I don’t think it is, I have only created 1 topic ever since the new forums came up and I got TL3.
No idea what mine is, but trust level is also really stupid. It should be activity level or Forum Level. Trust is pointless on the forums and abusive
I don’t see how it’s abusive, perhaps you meant punitive. But even then, if posting GIFs has never been your thing, then not having TL3 shouldn’t be a problem for you, or feel like a disadvantage to you.
Trust level is based on certain criteria that involves activity and not doing things to get suspended from the forums. Also known as being a modeled poster.
Nice but… how do you find out stuff like this?
A lot of the information was gathered from the other forums that brought in this design as well as people with familiarity with the company that designed this forum framework. Otherwise it is just people checking their stats and comparing with one another to see what works and what doesn’t.
Because just to have normal forum functions that every other forum on the net has Blizzard is using Trust Levels as a way to train its posters.
Including links from untrusted websites and images/gifs is not what I would call “normal forum functions” when historically, they’ve had issues with spammers and said functions. It is why they’ve been disabled on previous generations of forums that Blizzard has used with the amount of bad links given out.
With Trust levels, it mitigates the problem without straight up blocking it and gives players the chance to be able to post said links without issue.
However, I feel that this is getting off topic of why I created this thread in order to assist people with and would rather refrain continuing of this derailment and focus on providing assistance to those about this topic directly.
Looks like it kicked in at 52 days for me.
Congratulations.
? We never had the ability to embed images or post links in the old forums. At most, the TL limit the amount of ‘likes’ we can give but the rest is new.
True but just because blizzard finally caught up with 90s tech websites for the wow forums doesnt mean its not abusive of them
The way I look at it has to do with Blizzard trusting the poster not to embed inflammatory or hateful gifs, for example. You’ve built up trust with them to where “they” are allowing you greater privileges.
Again, that’s how I understand the term Trust Level. But your terms are not without merit, either, since the trust level is only applicable to the forum itself.
How does it know how many posts you have read?
Then 3ms later Neal happened
When you’re scrolling through a thread, if you look at the upper right hand corner of each post will be a blue dot. That blue dot will only fade if the post is on the screen for more than a certain amount of time. When it fades, it is counted as “read”.
5k a min bub, I dont get rich letting people watch me for free.
