Finding old license

I’m looking for an old, pre-battle net trial WoW license that was never attached to any battle net. I have created a ticket (US104376769) following the steps outlined in the help article https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/15581, but I am not finding much success.

I can’t provide some of the requested items on the list, such as a CD key or order IDs, because it was a trial account and never upgraded to a full license. I don’t remember if phone numbers were needed when making an account back then, and almost 20 years later, I don’t remember the login or email.

I had help attaching an old trial account to a battle net account once before, via live chat, so I was hopeful it could be done again.

I provided what information I could in the ticket. I’m trying to find out if there is anything else I could do or provide to reclaim this really old trial license. I know it’s just a trial, but it has sentimental value to me.

Thanks for any help or ideas.

If you can remember anything, like a character name and realm, or whether it was created under the same name as the account you’re currently posting on, it would be helpful. Post it here and maybe one of the SFAs can take a peak, but it’s not guaranteed.

If it was a trial account, Mincey, I don’t know how likely that would be to find. A lot of old trial accounts that were never upgraded may have been purged several years ago. If the WoW license had been upgraded to a full account, it should still be around, but I’d need a bit more to go on.

Unfortunately, a lot of personal information is deleted from tickets once the ticket has been addressed. The laws surrounding handling personal information mean that we keep very little, and only very specific kinds and in very specific locations. So outside of the email that is already on the Bnet account you are on, I cannot see the other information you may have listed.

I would avoid posting that kind of information here, but providing some character names/realms, as Cyntaria suggested, may be helpful. If you can also include race/class and maybe approximate level, that would also be helpful.

It does appear you have access to a Battlenet account that has some older wow licenses on it, the @hotmail address for reference. As well as a @gmail one… you do have a fairly unique name so it makes it easier to find.

Ah, I see. That may be what happened. It was never upgraded.

This, I can do.
{Removing possible verification info, just in case}

Yes, those are mine! I can regularly access those. The hotmail’s named license is the one I mentioned earlier, having been attached, I think around 2015, with some GM help.

I believe I found them. Amazing that you have that accurate of information on wow licenses that haven’t been accessed in nearly 2 decades.

I’d recommend opening a new ticket. If you can give me the ticket ID once you do I’ll add a note making it easier for them to find those licenses to help in verification.

If you can provide the same name/realm info you did here, that should work.

I have opened a new ticket. It is US104400998.

I can thank my many, many screenshots taken over the years for my accuracy!

And thank you for all your help. I really, really appreciate it.

Excellent! They pulled that fast. I didn’t even have time to add a note before it was claimed.

It does look like you should be set though. Good luck!
