The new one looks more ferocious and has the original pattern on his fur back. Not that I really minded too much how he looked previously, but he definitely looks objectively better now.

Dates back to early Vanilla for a lot of us. There were many many jokes about the “evil hogger”. The current one looks like he was made by Disney.

I had no idea that the one in-game right now was this bad. They improved it a bit, but while a pixelated mess, the OG Hogger is still the best.

Face looks considerably more monstrous as opposed to the almost cute dog face the original had.

Colors aren’t incorrect anymore.

Rebellious mane-mohawk is back.

Small technical changes but big vibe changes.

I’ve played since vanilla. Long story short I lost my first account in MOP and made this one in WoD.

Looks dumb now.
The “forever snarl” to me is less about character design and more about Blizz not having the resources back then to make a normal face.
See Druid bear form and Worgen update for example.

But WoW players has this weird thing against Disney and furrys so w/e I guess.

Our boy is back!

Those of you who didn’t play back in the original WoW just can’t understand what kind of a monster this guy was.

This guy used to lay waste to people so bad the entire area around him would look like a world PvP zone, skeletons everywhere.

Back then we were all noobs, didn’t know what we were doing so he would roll us HARD.
And back then the skeletons didn’t disappear for a LONG time, so you could walk up to fight him hours later and the skeletons would STILL be there from earlier attempts to kill him.

So he had this intimidation factor too, seeing that this guy had killed many, MANY others before you psyched you out.

He’s a legend for a reason.

Edit to add whoever worked on this did an amazing job, LOVE it.
