look at lore characters to justify abilities is dumb af, look to deep and you’ll find alot of dumb inaccuracies like warriors using mirror image, anduins existence, shadow hunters, demon hunters still using chaos blades, etc etc
I think i remember that being the thing, but i am not 100% sure of it. Too long ago lol, but if i remember correctly it was a debate with the devs about who to give it to.
Most classes basically get skills either baised on the rts games or what “pure” class lore charecters use on terms of skills.
Expample, hunters black arrow was a play with sylvannis’s skill set.
oh ya cause marksmen hunters can teleport everywhere and wield daggers
Tbf they used to wield daggers before MOP I think
Correct, before they removed the ranged slot (and relic slot) hunters was able to dual weild or use 2 handers in their weapon slots. They could use every weapon type even. (Hince the meme “It’s a huntah weapon!”

Yes, but still they did lol thats all I was saying.
Don’t project yours on to me. Also you should probably keep that to yourself.
Suuure you do, that’s why you don’t want paladins to have an instant gap closer.
They do leap, Disengage and Survive can do another leap Harpoon.
That’s actually is After Images, its meant to convey the speed and skill in which the weapon master moves that you see multiple after images. I’m sure if you’ve ever watch or any maga you’d know of this concept. WoW unfortunately didn’t do it very well back then and just use another classes ability.
In the very beginning of WoW beta Charge was a Paladin ability. Charge was an ability that Paladins in Diablo 2 had and WoW paladins were heavily based off those paladins originally. It was later decided it should go to warriors instead(and that was largely due to two devs in particular and they known hatred of Paladins being anything but a buff bot class)
Heroic Leap was an idea that came from the forums, before cata I believe. They called it Leap of Faith if I remember correctly. Which indirectly lead I believe to the priests ability.
Even the concept of Steed was put forth around that time to.
I even put in my suggestion during Wrath for a gap closer. It was based off the Judgement’s animation at that time. The idea was for the paladin to leap/teleport into the sky disappearing, ascending to heaven so to speak. Then reappearing above the target, riding the Judgement hammer animation into them. Bringing Heavens Judgement crashing upon the foe.
Years later Diablo 3s Crusader came out with Falling Sword, which was nearly how I had envisioned this ability. Though Falling Sword looked far better and didn’t require a target. One the reasons I like it so much, but mainly because it looks awesome.
I also suggested the concept of Death from Above for Paladins(during MoPs beta, or some time around then). Which went to Rogues instead, which honestly made more sense. Given the Character who was a rogue like duel wielder the ability I reference was from. Which was Lloyd from Tales of Tales of Symphonia, the ability in question was his Rising Falcon/Rising Phoenix.
Its still something I think Paladins could do. Its technically not a leap, its more of an aerial charge(like a Falcons dive or like warriors Dragon’s Charge, but in the air). Would somewhat suit the Wings of Liberty name.
