As far as the perceived importance of how many people play it, it’s almost irrelevant. A solid MMO can function well enough with WAY fewer players than people expect (what was EQ’s peak… 1.5 mill or something along those lines? And at the time it was practically a household name?).

Not quite true, every serious raid will use ACT log parsing. If you’re toxic to someone as a result of what you see in logs, then you can expect a ban, though.
