Final Fantasy 14 Community versus Warcraft

I don’t know their community much, but they sure love to come here to advertise their game.

I legit cried as did many streamers. Nyxi had an emotional breakdown during that part of endwalker.

You think wow can do that? Ive never shed a tear playing wow. It has zero emotional impact.

Not a chance WOW can pull off something like that, no.

I thought Jaina cutscenes were pretty awesome. I don’t need to have an emotional breakdown playing a video game.

If only there was a community that was a balance of negativity and positivity lol. Like FF14 is a good game but sadly I just couldn’t get into it.

Huh? I’m not easy on this game, but I always explain why. I don’t get many likes either. Also I don’t sit on the forums 24/7.

Anyone who thinks FF14 is a positive space should go in and insult miqo’te and see how quickly they will destroy you

Meanwhile on wow, you cant even FREAKING have a bunny ears since its NOT ALLOWED when the event ENDS

  • I Bet there gonna be a WARCRIME if they allow us to tmog bunny ears during the normal days

Yes, they don’t appreciate WoWers coming in and trying to turn their game into the toxic competitive efficiency-focused cesspool that is WoW.

They like their game and their community the way it is, thank you very much.

IMO, in FF14, the community and vibe is much better. Reminds me of the role-playing communities back in the day. Come, join in, let’s have some fun but woe to anyone who wanted changes that hurt the RP aspect of the game.

(If WoW’s RPers had chosen to fight instead of just leave when Blizzard started nerfing the RP aspects of the game, the game wouldn’t be the hollowed out experience it is today.)

But the games themselves… I think WoW is much better. I love the artstyle, the races, the classes, the gameplay, the stories, the ‘little’ NPCs, the humor, ect. (Please note, this opinion is based on adventuring in old content.)

It is not toxic to defend your game against people who would ruin its community and vibe. Need to cut that :poop: off at the knees.

  • Because the characters in WoW have zero depth and many of them have been completely rewritten multiple times to fit the current plot, no matter how idiotic it makes the character appear.
  • Because the factions are utterly nonsensical. One faction is constantly being trampled into the ground a la surprised pikachu face, despite having more or less demigods in their ranks, while the other follows insane leaders like mindless sheep.
  • Because there is no relationship between the players and the NPCs.
  • Because the lore in WoW is riddled with countless retcons and questionable elements. By the way, this didn’t start with BFA, but has been happening since TBC, which many people like to ignore due to nostalgia.

WoW manages to sometimes write good side stories, but the overall story… I mean, sorry, but it’s a dumbster fire.^^

I mean… if you come in and randomly start insulting players, aren’t you the toxic person then? Everyone would get irritated when getting attacked for no reason.

I also wondered what that comment was about.
“I can’t act like an a** to anyone in the game. That means the community is full of toxic people, but I, who wants to insult others, definitely am not!”

Like… wtf? :joy:

Those were two minutes of wholesome family reunion. When I saw this, I thought “Ah, that’s nice.”. A quick cutscene with a resolution to a conflict that started two hours before in the same zone.
But what people here are talking about is on a completely other level - a deeply personal level - and sadly you will probably never know what FF managed to create with the ending of the latest expansion. I thought about explaining it to you for a moment, but you probably already have an opinion about it.

No. People falsely flag and rip you a new one just as much on here as well. The difference is that FF14 is a good game, WoW is mediocre with rushed, unfinished, and mostly buggy content now.

Meanwhile on the WoW forum they request account wide ignore so they can block criticism.

People just need to admit, regardless of what kind of social media they use, they want to the ability to create their little echo chambers.

Was that really the message that cinematic sent? No, it wasn’t.

Jainas mom banished her own and only daughter and practically disowned her for what she has thought her daughter did. But later when she saw everything and what truly happened she practically regretted her actions for disowning her own daughter. And at the end of that cinematic the message was forgiveness and compassion and acceptance for what has happened. But, I guess that is too deep for your “emotional” definition.

I don’t even know why you’re so hostile all the time, lol. You don’t have to explain what happened in the cinematic, I’ve seen it several times and I know the context. My opinion still stands, that this small resolution of a character arc is something completely different than the emotional rollercoaster that Endwalker was. But we already concluded that FF is more of a story game where the game reeeeally takes its time to build up stuff - and put the own character in the centre. In WoW the gameplay stands in the centre and the stories of other characters.
