Nah, it’s actually copied from Minecraft.
It is? Thought it was from Guild Wars. Especially that one role the dragon does.
Songs are music. That’s what you were trying to deny but then posted this. I don’t get it. Sorry.
I’ll translate: everything musical from FF14 or any other game that isn’t WoW is bad.
Yeah…in recent years, Blizzard has definitely copied FFXIV’s telegraph system. That said, I don’t really mind it. They used to have a lot more problems showing people where to and where not to stand, to the point where people had to make addons that told you instead.
The main thing about FFXIV that irritates me as a healer (resto shaman in WOW, whm in FFXIV) is FFXIV has no way to do mouse-driven healing bars like Vuhdo. You have to select someone and then press the healing spell hotkey. You can do mouseover macros so you can just highlight them, but you still have to press the button, and I really find that un-fun. That’s what makes me not enjoy raiding in FFXIV compared to WOW.
Yes, minecraft Elytra has had flying like this for around a decade or so, not sure when GW2 came out though so unsure.
FF14 telegraph is way better still. WoW still feels outdated. I like both games but FF14 is better.
What does FF14 does better?
Transmog not so much and pretty soon in War Within it would destroy FF14 system
Zones I wouldn’t be calling them open world anytime soon
Raids and dungeons doesn’t give immersive experience when every little thing is in your face and clearly define on what is good and what is bad it’s like they are giving the answers away.
Its style yeah it’s dated and everything seems like cardboard cut outs compared to World of Warcraft style where everything is a cartoon and detailed and not realistic in style and would last longer.
FFXIV’s transmog is a worse version of what WOW had during Cataclysm. WOW has gotten SO MUCH BETTER since then too.
Oh, so WoW is finally getting real 3D armor in 2024, instead of the same handful of sets that are just drawn directly on the avatar? And then the armor can finally be dyed as well? And there will be wet and dry effects on WoW armor? Or is it still stuck in the early 2000s with it’s gear?
Transmog isn’t even changing, they are just letting you unlock armor types on characters that can’t use them lol. You still won’t be able to use, say, cloth on plate classes.
I think I’ll have a laugh.
War within is massively improving the technology on transmog collection and how everything works about it. By making everything accountwide by making it no long character specific and changing it to account specific.
So WoW is still stuck in the 2000s, got it!
FFXIV’s armor and dye system is much better. We’re talking about the actual transmog system, where you have to use a really archaic glamour dresser, and you have to have the actual item.
Meanwhile WOW you just learn appearances and can use them whenever you want (barring class restrictions of course).
The physical item is the only downside compared to WoW, literally everything else is better lol.
… no, not really.
Dawntrail’s introducing dual-dye channels, allowing more customization for a lot of pieces (heck, I’d say dyes even as they are outweigh WoW’s transmog system).
The only real issue with FFXIV’s glamour system is the lack of a catalogue and still needing to store items like WoW’s original transmog system. If that ever gets added (it certainly gets asked for), WoW’s going to be out to dry.
On the bright side, glamour plates means it’s essentially free once set-up.
I choose FF14’s system over WoW’s any day if it means having actual armor instead of outdated pixel mush that can’t even be dyed in 2024, where you have to earn each color individually… and most of the time, you don’t get more than five, if that.
Calling World of Warcraft armors out dated when they have been implementing 3D assets to its armors since shadowlands or BFA and now in Dragonflight and going into War within. War within armor pieces are far more 3D than say any previous expansions.
Wow has a problem that I don’t think many other gaming communities do: what I refer to as militant bad players. Players who willfully refuse to improve at the game, yet complain about the consequences of their lack of skill.
For me it’s the… I don’t know the term for that…
In WoW I see that the boss casts an ability and I can dodge in the last millisecond before the ability hits the spot where I’m standing. It’s much smoother than in FF where I still get hit while not standing in the animation, because I should’ve predicted beforehand where the ability would hit. It’s hard to describe, but it feels so clunky and I hate all these little geometry gimmicks in dungeons and raids.
Gear aquisition. Storytelling. Professions. Housing. Quality management overall. Customer support (at least in EU). Gold Saucer (the Darkmoon Faire of FF). Dye system. More versatile gear pieces (looking at you, WoW cloth robes that are just the same old tube).
