Final Boss mounts, and Personal Loot

I just wanted to put in my 2 cents on this. The fact that we are forced to use personal loot as a guild group is insane. To put it this way, lets say i’ve been raiding with a guild for 2 years and a newer guy has been there for a couple months, Were at the last boss of a tier that drops a mount. I now have no gaurentee in the order that i will get the mount due to the fact its personal loot. I could get it the first kill, or i may not get it for 20 kills. Our guild used to prioritize people for how long they had been raiding with the guild to the newest raiders for obvious purposes. I’m extremely dissapointed that we are forced personal loot. They should just force personal loot on pug groups, but if you are in a guild group you still have the option of master looter. Boom Problem Fixed, thanks blizz.

RNG is RNG. Sure it’s frustrating when you farm something over and over, but try to be happy for that new person too, maybe?

Or they could give us back the system that worked perfectly fine for 13 years and let the guild control who gets loot based on performance/attendance. Crazy, I know.

I’ve never experienced it as I’m rather new. How many things dropped per run with that system?

1 mount dropped when you killed the end tier Mythic boss, 5 pieces of loot dropped with each boss kill with Master Loot on. This allowed your raid group to prioritize the Highest performing DPS with upgrades over lower performing DPS. It also let your bring trials to bosses that you still need loot from because you controlled who the loot would go to. Please do note, you could only turn on Master Looter if 80%-90% of your raid group was part of the same guild.

I think its just absolutely ridiculous that blizzard gets to dictate on how we disperse loot. Im not even sure that they play there own game.

Interesting. Why would you give gear to the better dps? I understand rewarding good play but at the same time seems better to try to improve the others so they can hit those higher numbers as well? So conflicting to me!

Personally, i like the way loot is (unless I’m farming for transmogs, then i like whatever system is in place for that). I’ve never played a game before where people didn’t have personal loot. It’s such a foreign concept to me.

The biggest problem is that blizzard is catering to the more casual players of this game, and leaving the top 10% of hardcore players hanging out to dry. They want the bad players to be happy because they make up more of the population then us.

You want to give gear to people who will benefit the most from it. This is particularly important on Mythic progression since, on some fights, certain specs will perform vastly better than other specs. So if you are about to tackle a new boss and a piece drops from the former, that would be a 50k DPS increase for one spec that is over performing on that new boss as opposed to a 15k-20k increase for a spec that isn’t doing as well, who would you give the loot to?

Of course the flip side is that ML allows guilds to give the mount to wives, GFs, siblings, friends, or concubines. At least with the current system everyone who is in the group for the kill gets a chance at the mount. I understand that bothers people who think they are entitled to it before someone else.

I suppose that makes sense from a numbers standpoint, fair enough. Thank you!

And to Crowlay: you put other feelings i couldn’t verbalize into words rather perfectly. So thank you for that.

Exactly, Masterloot allows the guild to decide for themselves then the random chance of luck deciding for you. I would much rather be given an item because i deserve it then to get it based off pure luck.

You say this like its a bad thing ? Would you rather wow be dead ?

And the very first time it goes to someones wife, GF, sibling, friend or concubine instead of who the guild has decided gets it everyone leaves. It isn’t something that actually happens and it’s pretty much just an urban myth that circulates the LFR part of the forums.

They’re just trolling. Or incredibly entitled. I at least hope it’s the first.

It’s bad for everyone who wants a proper reward for difficulty. Right now the rewards are highly skewed towards easy content giving huge rewards. At least Blizzard isn’t trying to bribe people to play with mission table gold any more.

Yea, imagine killing mythic g’huun for the first time and being rewarded a trinket that sims less then a 340 Pearl Divers compass, I love the state of wow.

I agree with OP in that having only Personal Loot in the World of Warcraft seems crazy. Part of this awesome game is the social aspect and the community, which happens to be the heart of any MMORPG worth anything. If you cut out the community, you gut the game. Bring back Master Loot so that guilds (the community) can thrive. Being able to share and distribute loot is important to a unit like an effective guild. Having Master Loot exist with Personal Loot wouldn’t detriment the game, I feel. Maybe Master Loot could only be available to use for 100% Guild only groups. Perhaps we would all be willing to try Master Loot for a patch cycle and see how it goes?
