Calm down, people come on the WoW forums talking about how good ff14 is, it gets old
We’re all entitled to an opinion, good for you! My comment wasn’t even directed at you but, if you feel attacked I am sorry

I don’t get why people feel like they have to love one thing or the other… why not like both things? Why does it have to be a competition xD
That’s what I’m saying. I don’t really care what people like
It’s just the WoW forums, don’t need ff14 threads clogging up my mage tower complains
Well that’s confusing.
I got notified of your reply, yet it’s not counting it as a direct reply. Apologies if I came off snarky.
lul
Cause when there’s a winner and a loser the loser just disappears.
The content is after all the cutscenes, unfortunately.
In all seriousness, IF you find yourself engaged in the story being told, FFXIV’s approach to “Questing” will be fine, because it’s just… a LOT of story. And almost nothing else until you hit a Dungeon/Trial quest eventually.
If you DON’T find yourself engaged… it’s an unscalable wall of bullcrap that prevents you from playing the “proper” game for far longer than is worth putting up with.
Personally, I like the story, and the endgame philosophy FFXIV runs with only interests me for a few weeks tops, so I don’t dislike it, but I totally get why its offputting to many. I do feel that, even if the goal is a “story first” game, they could stand to sprinkle in actual gameplay better.
Going to go get some crackers to soak up all of this SALT!!
Best Community Support Final Fantasy XIV
This is what happens when a company listens to thier player base.
No it’s just all cutscenes.
No, this is what happens when you moderate your playerbase.
The community is chill because Squeenx will bring down the hammer on toxicity.
Not if both things are played and enjoyed… It’s the mindset that there can only be one that ruins things. I play 3 different mmo’s off and on and I honestly enjoy all of them. They are each good in their own way and bad in their own ways.
Hello, I see you made a thread about Final Fantasy 14. Well, I finished the Main Story Quest and my god, what a fantastic, fantastic ending to an overall amazing story. Since this is the World of Warcraft forums, I won’t worry about spoilers. The ending to the story is spectacular and it really hits you in the feels when you start the final walk and this music starts:
The final trial is an amazing fight full of spectacular visuals and music. I wasn’t sure if they could pull off something better than Shadowbringers but good lord, did they ever! It’s such a fun fight and I can’t wait to try it on Extreme:
And then, to top it all off, Zenos finally get’s his one on one rematch with you. It’s a fun fight to finish off the story with it’s own fantastic music as well:
All in all, 10/10, fantastic adventure and I can’t wait for what’s to come!
Thanks for your post and have a wonderful day!
Disagree. FF14 is a competitor. I think it’s important if we discuss ideas from the games that Blizzard can adopt into WoW to make WoW even better. They’re both MMOs.
one has a story and devs who care. The other has people walking out every five seconds and Daunser.
That seems fair, who else would have won? WoW? Maybe in 2012, or hopefully 2022 who knows!
That got a chuckle from me.
I have to salute our competition. They took advantage of every misplay offered.
lmao WoW’s story is so bad that y’all think having a great story in an RPG is a problem.
People who never actually played FFXIV has a misconception about it.
MSQ, or Main Story Quests are story quests. You receive experience from them, but they are not the main way you should level your character. They will help, ofc, ONE of your classes/jobs to level, but it is a STORY quest. It is to tell you the story.
You have other activities you also use to level your classes/jobs, and after you did MSQs they are done.
Me for example I am a Black Mage first, and therefore I leveled through the MSQs, but doing other things too. When I go to level my Professions, I do Profession quests, that consist of Crafting. When I were to level my Marauder/Warrior, I do combat quests, Levequests, Fates, and they are basically combat pure and simple.
That is the problem with your “argument”, it comes from ignorance, not “smartness”.
Its an ff14 thread fire all flags
Nah, I want to fire marshmallows for s’mores instead.
When a game must include in their lore specifically that the age of consent in a particular race nation is defined, you know that game means business.
