Why are you asking if you would like it if you already have the trial version and are playing it?
You already know if you like it or not…
Sorry, I smell fish

Since one character can play all classes it gets progressively more difficult to level each job/class as you run through the story quests and side quests. Essentially you end up leveling each new job through their version of world quests and dungeons. The gameplay is much slower at least in the beginning. The cool down is like 2 seconds its awful. Once you have enough abilities for a decent rotation it gets better. I liked it at first I can’t play anymore. I do believe it is the better game with the better devs though. I know contradiction. If they sped up the playstyle and added more side quests for the jobs I could play it again
Yes. I’m a Chef and I’m working in MICHELIN Star restaurant. When my wife make something bad I refuse eat that. This is why mostly I cook in home before I go to work at super morning or free days.
Shiva and Ramuh extreme taught me I really needed to step my game up.
I can’t believe anyone finds this post genuine.
As someone who has played ff14 this whole year and has raided current savage content (e5s-e8s) I would like to say that ff14 is very much a single player game with multiplayer thrown onto it (not sayin that is a bad thing). The vanilla section of the game is kind of a slog to get through sadly but once you hit heavensward the game gets WAY MORE fun, gameplay wise and story wise. The game is pretty much for the journey to the end, if you are looking for a mmo with a lot of end game, i dont think ff14 will hit that mark for you. It really only has raiding and the raiding in that game is VERY different than WoW’s (more punishing IMO)
But what i learned that you cant really compare WoW and FF14, they are two different beasts and both have their positives and negatives to them. Personally, since you doing the free trial, there really isnt any harm continue playing :3 and the fact that it goes through all of heavensward? THAT IS A LOT OF PLAY TIME ALREADY!!!
By your description it sounds like you are also worlds apart from many WoW players. How can you stand to be in either game by this standard?
My understanding is that people in FFXIV do run meters - they just can’t run them in game and can’t share them.
Mods in general are frowned upon you have to keep them to yourself if you ARE using any mod. People who raid for the most part, raid for parses.
They got easy too. Fun music though. /lodestone/character/8587135/ is my character. I can’t post links obviously, but you go the ffxiv website I’m Legaron Josef.
if you like dreadfully slow gameplay then yeah
ffxiv is alright, but I always come back to this game. i don’t really like the way ffxiv collections work and wow does it perfectly in my opinion
I enjoy FF14 more than WoW tbh, but I burnt myself out raiding savage. Something about WoW always feels a little off compared, like it’s less polished. It might just be WoW’s engine limitations, but things feel a bit more jank.
Oh, and FF14 has a banging soundtrack: https://youtu.be/pBuUkd5uakk
so everyone’s experience is going to be like yours?
As a more casual hardcore player (Essentially someone who isnt bad and gives up at the first sign of pushback) I found FF14 to be fantastic initially. I havent gotten back into it as each expansion means I need to dedicate literally months (at my casual pace) to get to end game which just isnt my cup of tea.
I like the story based component for questing in moderation (Like starting the game new), but as expansions are added it becomes hundreds of hours of solo story based content and its just too much when I have other amazing single player RPGs I would rather play. (Still have yet to play FF7 remake or Dragon Quest 11)
Also, the games homogenized many Classes and stats and essentially removed threat and the need to CC since I last played so coming back was a massive bummer as lots of the uniqueness had been removed in place of “everythings the same now” and “AoE everything down” as primary concepts.
Still not a bad game, I loved it on release (especially that Heroic Dungeons had special sets and were entirely new takes on the Normal Dungeons, not just scaling up the old dungeon and pretending its new content like WoW), but now its kind of lost its appeal to me.
I joined the trial for FFXIV and I’m enjoying my time leveling up as a marauder tbh. Give it a shot
I bounce back and forth. I’ll go back to ffxiv on patch releases/xpacs. But I always come back to wow cuz aside from ffxi(which has been on maintenance mode for years) I’ve played wow the longest. And still most of the time enjoy the game.
I also have every job maxed on ffxiv lol so I played alot at shadowbringers launch.
I had to laugh at the person who said crafting in FFXIV was for casuals.
No honey, just because it’s not a MyThIc rAid doesn’t mean you can just spend a few minutes on it casually.
Difficulty =/= hArDcOrE gAmInG
Definitely. Especially if you’re not a fan of the punishing restrictions with roles and flying in WoW.
FF gives flying much sooner than WoW does. FF doesn’t feel the need to time-gate their customers.
FF also allows you to play all of the classes/specs on a single character, so you’re not stuck having to level a bunch of characters over and over again through content you’ve already seen.
The gearing and systems are much more straight forward and don’t make you feel punished for simply wanting to play their game.
I highly recommend FFXIV.
FF14 is great, but FF11 was the best.
There is a huge and I mean HUGE Private FFXI server that is active 24/7, and is retro, no 99 abbyssea bs, just all 75 stuff like back in the old days.
If you gonna play Final Fantasy at all, go to the private server (Eden) and play FFXI classic.
It has a great story, well once you get to Heavensward which is part of the trial. A Realm Reborn is good and has been revamped but is sort of generic. Each class is unique but there are not specs, they play the way they play.
The game is time consuming but rewarding if you enjoy a good fantasy story, it is a Final Fantasy game first and an mmo second. There is plenty of challenging content but gear is quite set for classes for the most part. Meaning you will only be using one type of weapon. Each class has its rotations just like WoW.
Crafting is far better and way more fun and rewarding than Wow atm. There are lots of things to invest your time into. The transmog (glamour) system is not as good as WoW just because of the limited space, granted there is a lot of room and it is only for each character as an individual unless otherwise stated.
Mounts you get as you quest, there is flying which you have to go through the story to unlock and then each zone has little spots for you find find called aether points and some are rewarded by quests by finishing the zone, then you can fly in that zone.
Its a wonderful game and I have just covered some of the basics but it is worth your time investment. It is a lot of fun and the story gets so good , plus plenty of challenges along the way.
