FFXIV is what WoW should have been

It’s not, it’s an MMO that has an entirely different design philosophy than WoW. It’s far more story focused and it’s more comparable to saying its a FF game with extra multiplayer attached. It is not very MMO compared to WoW and other games in this genre.

Jesse Cox recently made a video on this actually that goes into design differences that’s quite good, there’s one point I disagree with but overall he’s pretty spot on and that it appeals to two different sets of players.

lol yes we’ve all seen that video. The part he didn’t get right is FFXIV does a lot of “multiplayer” activities better than WoW aside from PvP.

No it doesn’t, a lot of it is more restrictive and less challenging besides. It can’t even get housing wards or glamour right who are you kidding
