FF14 could be the best MMO known to man and I still wouldnât play it because I canât take it seriously seeing cat girls/boys and that toddler-looking race, it just brings me right out of the experience.

I love how people equate âchallenging contentâ to âgood gameâ like everybody plays an MMORPG to do hard content. And thatâs where WoW is starting to falter, and a mindset that has actually flat out killed good games.
But whatever, Iâm enjoying playing dress up with my sexy Au Ra boy, and actually enjoying having to put effort into my professions and leveling up skills. WoW just doesnât give a crap about the RPG stuff anymore, unless itâs stuff that causes massive rifts in playstyles like covenants.

Im not defending wow but⌠ffxiv has a 2.5 sec gcd between almost ever button press in the game, about 70+ hours of fetch quests before you can get to endgame, no addons allowed, dps meters are a ban-able offense, but my biggest peeve comes from my favorite part of the game:
You can be every class on one single toon, but you are locked out to one kill per boss, its like if your alts in wow got the lockout from your mains raid. so you can play off specs to your hearts content, but never gear them, the gearing is based on a valor system outside of raid, where your waiting 2 weeks to get a chest piece or legs for one spec, so your looking at a month to get 2 pieces of loot, given you log on every week and cap.
and loot is spec locked to the most part (some is sharable, like tank gear, but different stat weights make that a problem too as its expensive to gem them, and your stats matter a lot)
its a great story after the first 4 days of questing as a amazon driver⌠but has a lot to live up to if it wants to compare to wow.

Iâve played ff14. Not everyone gets off on questing and rp. If people want that stuff, please, go there. Then maybe the devâs can focus on endgame instanced content only

FF14 is currently #1 vs retail wow but I doubt it will last very long.
Arguably wow OVERALL may still be #1 as you have classic plus retail and it almost certainly is beating FF even if you disregard inherent overlaps
but yes, retail wow is losing to FF14 right now

Yeah, it was great in the end once we could actually play the game without the stupid systems in place holding us back for 0 reason.

I donât actually, since I donât play retail. But looking at pandas and foxes would also take me out of the experience.
When I look at the Shadowbringer trailer vs the Shadowlands trailer we find that wow has 11 million views on youtube and FFXIV only has 3.4 million. Ffxiv is certainly catching up and catching speed as wow is suffering from no content and poor decisions that antagonize the playerbase.

One thing I have to disagree with the Chris guy with. He said there wasnât enough information on the PTR? I am guessing he meant alpha/beta? No, there was a TON of information that people wrote about for months and months and months on end and it was not the mindless blabbing either, it was very professional and constructive and broken down.
And it was all ignored.

Yes, I tried BFA when it came out and leveled a monk, then quit playing. What does it matter? I still stand by my original statement.

My kid started playing FF14. She showed me a screen shot of her character and it was dressed as a French maid.

Yeah It seems the graphic really turns off a lot of western players.
