My server is about 4000 during the day, but it goes down to sub 100 late at night/early morning. It’s frustrating, but at least once you get in the servers are butter smooth.
Also, Squeenix is giving us a free week of game time, so I can’t complain too much.

Game is a flop. Less viewers than New World on twitch now. Not even on the top charts on steam.

What is with you that you base your identity so strongly on a game doing badly? I feel sad for you, I do.
I can assure you the game is quite healthy. I don’t care who is watching it, I care who is playing it. Right now the servers are full and there are people everywhere. Heck, even dungeon queues for DPS are nearly instant… and that was in the middle of the night (my playtime is usually around 1am or so).

You can blame them for not opening up new servers as they promised 6 months ago.
It’s going to be worse than New World’s launch.
Again, as others have stated, you are basing how good the game is based on it’s twitch viewers. Myself, and probably many others, don’t even watch other people play games on twitch (Well I do, but rarely). I’ve been playing FFXIV since 2010, long before I started watching people play games on twitch.
I’ve seen you popping in any thread that mentions FFXIV stating the same thing over and over while ignoring other peoples replies.

Even on Steam, more people are playing New World than FF14
Yup queues on primal have been crazy man. 5k+ all day and into the night. Gotta make sure to have a second window open incase the queue blows up so you can reload back in asap to get closer to the front of the line. Logging in during the morning has been the best for me. I fear tomorrows queues when the second wave comes through for the official launch

It is. There’s basically zero hype around it. All the wow streamers who “quit for wow” are back to playing wow during the expansion release.
This guy bases his entire existence around FF14 being a flop. Presenting evidence to the otherwise won’t work. Trust me. I’ve tried, others have tried. They live in their own, sad little world. He seems to think Twitch and Steam numbers are the end all be all, despite being told repeatedly that a lot of people prefer to play the game rather than watch it (and indeed the servers are more than full), and that most people don’t actually play on Steam.

It’s literally the #167 best selling game on Steam right now. Will easily overtake New World on sales.

This is the most successful FF14 has ever been by far. Of course, that doesn’t tell us anything about how it compares to WoW, but who cares.
Sucks for casual players who can’t remote login or work from home to battle the queues since they won’t get to play for a week.

“Nobody uses Steam” isn’t true. But what is true is that only a minuscule portion of the FFXIV playerbase uses Steam. Meaning if Steam sales alone are going to overtake something, then FFXIV in reality is absolutely dominating that game, since actual sales and players are many, many times higher. Most PC players use the SE login itself, and the entirety of the console playerbase has its own (non-Steam) login.

I never said nobody uses Steam. Most of the player-base purchases the game directly from Square-Enix and not through Steam. When I started playing it wasn’t even available on Steam. There’s also the PlayStation version but I have no idea how many people play on that exclusively.

My friend told me to use the Steam version because installing the regular client and creating an account gave me a stroke the first time. The website looks like an early 2000s MMO one.
The mogstation is pure garbage. Steam version is fine.
The queues have been bad but not as bad as they’re made out to be. On midgardsormr it’s about a 3-4k queue at peak times, but even then it’s taking like… 30ish mins to get in.
Also, almost done MSQ and HOLY FUG… what a story.
