FFXIV Dev Discusses WoW:

Oh? On private servers that could be shut down at any time? No thanks. If you really think you can kill the game and it will magically come back just how you like it you’re not being realistic.

Pirates are sometimes the saviours of dying franchises that don’t deserve an early death. By drawing attention to it…

Well Blizzards Warcraft does have to die first.

Midgardsormr has a queue for zoning into the world server at 7 am.

Wtf guys. LET ME IN.

No, it doesn’t have to die, nor do I want it to. Wish all you want, but your plan is something from a dream world.

You never know.

Oh, yeah I was referring to the people here who thought FFXIV players were coming to the forums to hype up FFXIV, when it was really the WoW refugees doing that.

I just started playing FFXIV a few days ago and have found their community a lot more chill than ours overall. It’s probably because Square Enix actually cares about their players having fun.

And it isn’t going to “die” by people canceling their subs. All that will happen is that WoW will go F2P, the player population will jump (as it always does in F2P scenarios), and Acti-Blizz will make a lot of money from store sales. That’s how they will adapt to the supposed “Exodus” of subs.

It’s always nice to see companies value others work especially when they had been inspired by them. In today’s business world it would also be a very bad look to put down another company that they have always said helped make them what they are today. I don’t think Ion or anybody representing Blizzard would say something bad about final fantasy for that reason either.

That final fantasy dev does has so much enthusiasm about his game though. I’ve seen other videos and it seems he has a lot of fun being a part of that family. You can see that he genuinely enjoys seeing people being excited about the game he works on. It gets him hyped up, he wants to be a part of that and I think he feels a lot of pride in his team and game.

That is very nice to see.

I feel bad for the type of WoW players FFXIV is getting, lol.

I played FFXIV a few years ago (not playing now) I reached level 50 and loved the story but hated the crafting. I still follow what’s happening in the game to this day. I adore Yoshi-P!! He and his company are always so communicative with the player base. I’m not surprised in the least that he only has good things to say. That’s how the entire company conducts itself.

Yoshi P is a saint and we don’t deserve him.

That doesn’t mean WoW isn’t a tire fire right now.

The only way WoW will “end” is if the game ends. As in finishes, turns off the last server, no more game.

That wouldn’t be a happy thing for me and I suspect for a lot of people. I’d rather see it continue to exist and to improve. It has done so before and can again.

Dude this hurts so bad. SE cares more about WoW than blizzard and shows the game the greatest amount of respect…blizz where you at

That’s one of the reasons I don’t wanna play FFXIV.

Too many WOW-fugees.

Why did you withdraw your post? If you are going to SLAM over half the population, why not stand by it? Because you got shamed for it? Because you are full of crap?

This “cancel culture” is a social media thing, not a left thing, and Wow declining and FFXIV is rising isn’t political. Not everything is political.

Seriously, for your own peace of mind and health, ignore politics for 30 days and see if you don’t feel better about the world. You are horribly jaded…

I like the conspiracy mindset that has consumed the West.
Everyone is secretly working for someone and everyone is lying and the only one who knows the Truth is me, somehow!

I know exactly what you mean. I now have a wow guild in ff14 and it’s just a group of salty players but day after day they calm down a bit more

I’ve seen this happen too.

It’s a side effect of not having someone troll tank your keys in pugs, not having 1/3rd your team afk in bgs, and not having to deal with someone pulling consumption before 40 stacks.
