FFXIV Dev Discusses WoW:

Back them games were made by gamers for gamers now it’s just people who want to make a profit

I don’t see any of them doing that, except for the one time a guy called Asmon a name. One of the developers congratulated the FF team and said they did a good job.

Why do you play the game if you hate it so much that you want it to die?

I dont want it to die - I’d like to see it reborn, regenerated into the game it once was and should be again.

Archives are awesome, because they record all the damage control before they magically block and beg Twitter to nuke it from orbit.

It is what it is. Sink or swim is a good policy.

Hope they can swim then. Before the sharks like FF14 and Genshin decide to eat them.

Why in sweet hell are you bringing up politics in a video game? Who gives a crap about leftists or rightists or any of that garbage?

It can’t be reborn until it dies.

Retail is an abomination that needs to end.

When MMo’s die they don’t come back, you’re living in a fantasy land.

I was thinking about the 1980s, but the early 90s weren’t too bad, just more console by that stage.

I actually had a friend in the 80s that wrote a game for PC and sold it. They had it in supermarkets for $1 on floppy disk. It was pretty cool.

Yoshi-P’s humble and positive attitude reflects a lot in the FFXIV player base, similar to how Blizz’s contemptuous attitude reflects a lot in the WoW player base. No one from FFXIV wants WoW to fail or thinks their game is better than ours. Check any FFXIV community platform, and you’ll see people welcoming WoW refugees and expressing sympathy that WoW is no longer the game they find fun.

Literally the only people who have been so vocal about trash-talking WoW and singing praises about FFXIV are disenfranchised WoW players.

My main account got falsely banned (6 month suspension, I’m thinking because I used consoleport but i have no idea and after a handful of appeals blizzard’s customer service were clearly just blowing me off so I gave up) about a month ago and I tried out FFXIV, I’m surprised how much better it is than Retail wow. It has the same atmosphere as Classic did but gets rid of the fetch/kill quests and is just a story driven game with an MMO frame.

I honestly can’t imagine going back to wow at this point.

Ugh I envy you guys, but I do enjoy a bunch of the old school 80’s games. Whenever I get the chance.

Give the IP to literally anyone else and they could make something beautiful out of it.

Keeping it in Blizzards hands will only see it rot into oblivion.

Well if it wasn’t literally the driving force of trying to cancel your own cash cow, I wouldn’t be saying something that sounds like it came from an Onion article.

When anything dies under a massive corporate like activision it doesn’t come back good example being EA and Anthem

It is weird how all of the people on the wow forums have played wow at some point in time, and the ones talking about how good FFXIV is are in the FFXIV topic on the wow forums.

Oh, no, I’m daft, that’s literally the entire point of posting a topic on the wow forums about FFXIV. Do you go into pet shops and ask why the only products they sell are pets or related to pet ownership?

Edit: I only read the last line of your post and now feel like an azz having gone back and read the rest of it. Sorry I was the townspeople with pitchforks in this case monster, I was in the wrong.
