Guild creation? No.
I want the analogs between the two games.
The END RESULT of knowing the analogs determines what I later do and how much I weigh guilds.

Which is worthless.
At most you will clear 4 bosses, but that is mostly on the last tier that last +3 extra months. The first couple of tiers you would be lucky to pug more than 2-3 bosses in mythic.
Most mythic bosses required dozens(some hundreds) of wipes with a consistent group to get it down, you are not going to get that with pugs that quit after a couple of wipes.
I dont know how pugs work in FF, but mythic is not meant to be pugged in WoW and is only really done when there is a huge gap between new content.
Difficulty scale startings from easiest in my opinion.
LFR (WoW)
Normal (WoW) Normal (FF14) 24 man raids (FF14)
Heroic (WoW)
Savage (FF14)
Mythic (WoW)
Ultimates (FF14)
FF14 likes to reuse a lot of “mechanics” from fight to fight so its easier for players to adjust to a new fight over Warcraft. A prime example would be a stack marker that you have to split the damage for will always look the same.
Also FF14 doesn’t punish has badly for dying - can it cause a wipe in Savage and higher? sure but you can be rezzed and still learn mechanics till enrage, once you get that down then comes DPS.
I could probably go on and on but I’m just going to say this - the fundamentals for the games is different - Mythic was made for the top tier players and won’t be cleared by everyone. While FF14’s producers mentality is “I want people to go into these places and have fun overcoming a challenge with friends”. I might be slightly off on that, i cannot find the exact quote.
Edit: to note Ultimate only gives a tittle and a nice looking weapon transmog/ glamour, it is not better than anything.
Wow’s emphasis in raids is often on individual performance with 20 people. So all 20 people generally have to perform well. FFXIV has a very forgiving raid environment with only 8 people there is a lot less people making mistakes. Also if you die because you mess up you can just be insta ressed by a red mage. We do have battle reses in wow but they are very limited and typically saved for tanks and healers. Coming over from FFXIV you will notice something almost immediately. The community here won’t tolerate incompetence. Either be good or be gone. FFXIV is much more forgiving as a community because well… you get banned for dps shaming…or shaming in general. Wow is far less policed for things like "toxic behaviour.
Also i noticed you said savage raids in ffxiv is puggable. You may find the first boss or 2 puggable in mythic in SOME raid tiers but typically you will need a guild. Due to the punishing raid environemnt wow has you can’t pug mythic.
I’d say all in all FFXIV is a more enjoyable one if you are comparing Savage to Mythic but that’s just me. Progression raiding can get a bit tiresome.
There is no comparison for mythic +. It’s just a scaling difficulty with mods added in. FFXIV has nothing like this in a dungeon environment. It’s good fun if you like the challenge and mastering dungeons.
And now you know why LFR is so bad.
lmao.
Keep dreaming.
Savage at best is an heroic.
Trial difficulty is on par but since m+ can scale infinitely it is just harder by design.
There is a lot of passive-agressive Also f you post any logs you are restricted/banned.
Calling people names isn’t passive aggressive.
I just ignore people that post their dps log in LFR chat. I don’t see the point in it honestly even when I’m in the top. Everyone runs Recount or another meter so nobody is being enlightened by this info.
Re-read.
FFXIV is full of passive aggressiveness.
Well but I was talking about people in LFR moreso than general FFXIV groups. I’ve never felt any passive aggressiveness in FFXIV.
I think people are making this thread into a contest between two games when I assume this person is genuinely asking a question about content.
No, this person consistently tries to do exactly that.
Your take is yours, mine is mine. I’ve read their other threads and while they do complain about certain aspects of the game (mainly transmog it seems) this appears a genuine question to me and I will answer it as a genuine question. If they want to be snarky etc afterwards? Then that is on them as well.
Welcome to the wow forums, where you’re more likely to get trolled than an honest answer.
Mythic raids are probably on par with ultimates, to answer your question. Maybe a bit harder, I’m not sure. If you plan to raid mythic you’re going to be spending multiple days a week wiping repeatedly until your group finally lucks out and clears.
So go to FFXIV and ask them to change theirs to match WoW?
Why in the name of hell would I do that o_o I am trying to get into this game. I do not have neough time to troll a game I don’t plan to play.
Else, no offense, I’d troll fortnite or LoL. With much bigger more aggressive playerbases.
Ye I actually sadly can say I am genuinely asking.
I just do a metric ton of research, and anxiety, and then dive in…
WoW is a bit of a different beast compared to FFXIV; I generally find WoW difficulty to be a bit more consistent compared to FFXIV’s scaling across it’s encounter types.
Here I sort of try to break it down based upon my own experiences.
For FFXIV Statics vs WoW Raids
Normal / Savage / Ultimate => Normal / Heroic / Mythic
For Trials vs Dungeons
Trials are a bit more difficult to correlate to WoW because the FFXIV difficulty doesn’t quite map over the same between a Primal fight and a Dungeon but I think it would be…
Primal Trial: Normal / Hard / Extreme / Unreal => LFR / Normal / Heroic / Timewarped Raid
Dungeon: Normal / Hard => Normal / Heroic
If you are a player running Extreme’s on the regular and with little difficulty and are running Savage raids you would likely fit best in the hardcore/semi-hardcore AoTC crowd for WoW.
If your pushing world 1st’s for FFXIV content and running Ultimate’s on the regular you are likely in the “Cutting Edge” / Mythic crowd.
If you run the occasional Extreme / Savage raid but take things at your own pace you would likely fit in with the Casual Raiding AoTC scene.
If you just complete MSQ’s and run what the systems tell you to run you would fit in with the Casual crowd.
Hope this helps.
There is nothing in FFXIV that comes close to rivaling WoW’s hardest dungeon or raid encounters. I picked up FFXIV after dropping WoW at the start of BfA, but I ended up coming back because I was getting really disappointed with the lack of challenging content.
In FFXIV encounters are highly scripted and you can reliably clear most encounters just by memorizing the sequence of abilities. In WoW encounters are a lot more chaotic, and to clear the harder content you’re going to need a very strong understanding of how the mechanics work so you can react to unexpected situations on the fly.
If you want to do the hardest content in WoW, you will absolutely need to find a regular group to play with. I would suggest starting with a group that focuses on Heroic raids, as jumping right into Mythic when you’re new at the game might be a bit much.
analog - a person or thing seen as comparable to another.
Savage raids, which are the most difficult content in FFXIV,
This is incorrect. Ultimate is.
Congrats, you just found the real difference between FFXIV and WoW. The community here sucks.
If you are clearing savage casually you would be unhappy only doing Heroic raiding here. Mythic generally is closer to the Ultimates - IE generally not cleared early besides coordinated groups of players and you wont be pugging it current tier usually.
