Told you
Orcs are glorified steroid humans. Stop acting like you are better than the other races. Want a beast race? Play a Hrothgar.
And are you blind? BEs have been the most popular race since BC.
WoW is definitely not known for its graphics so your point doesnt make much sense
It’s the art style and textures. I designed maps for another game (made like 20+) and WoW has better map makers.
WoW has a cartoony art style and relies on different color palettes to try and draw your eyes away from your characters and more into the terrain. They use sky boxes, fog and lighting, etc. to make the world look more immersive.
FF14s base game tries using realistic palettes and it stands out to me extremely badly to the point its distracting. No effort was made to blend in different textures, the trees look very low poly, the lighting is bad, and the mobs can easily blend into the terrain. The map quality improves as you go through expansions, but I just… couldn’t… stop staring… at the terrain… and going SMH. I could have made something better!

Look man, I don’t like FF14.
Nothing about it appealed to me from character creation to gameplay.
Story maybe great but its not enough to keep me around.
Plus I play GW2 when I get bored of WOW.
The OPs intentions are to antagonize people. And really most of the people making FF14 is better posts because otherwise they would make suggestion topics of how to improve the game.
There are tons of those topics. I have posted in many of them myself.
Scrap this entire borrowed power idea. It’s utterly pointless. Player power should be base, not tied to some item or covenant. Which means no more grinding for anima, or artifact power, or azerite, or whatever the hell else they decide to conjure up in the future. Go back to the base design, you go up in levels with every expansion, you get a new talent row and a new skill or two. Remove this arbitrary gating on flying. This was a step in the right direction, but still not far enough. How FFXIV…

Are you playing FF14 without shaders?
Does your game look like this video “Destination: Eorzea”?

Personally, I’m not a graphics queen so I’ll play pixel art games. I don’t even care. But to suggest this is bad graphics is kinda sus.
How about the character graphics quality, notice you didnt mention that. its way better in FF14 than in WoW.

I’m always surprised when WoW players criticize 14 for…its graphics. It’s an odd argument to make, when by virtually all metrics 14 looks visually superior to WoW.
I have played FFXIV until 30 and became a bard. I have multiple friends from wow that play on the side as well. Once they told me it would take roughly 80 hours of gameplay to get past HW i deleted the game. I can not do another 60 hours of fetching something in Gridania just to have to go back to Ul’dah. The game has some nice qualities but the first 80 hours of the game being that kills it for me.
I would also miss mythic plus way to much. Having nothing like that in FFXIV would have me being bored pretty quickly.
Also I would like to be able to use damage meters to see myself progress in my job and see the results of learning my rotation or trying different gear out. There seems to be a lot of what people on the FFXIV forums call “toxic casuals”
Not to mention ability animations and even basic character animations are 10x better in FF14. Multiple idle animations on top of that.
You can just feel that the devs in FF14 love their game.

Oof. That’s like quitting Vanilla WoW at level 48. You were so close to the part where the game ramps up.
I think it would have been easier if my friends from wow that played could have grouped with me and shown me the way or ran dungeons with me. Since I was a free trial I couldn’t add friends or join FC. Maybe there is a way to do it but we didn’t know how to do it
Free trial accounts that haven’t bought the game yet and haven’t subscribed.
Yeah, playing alone isn’t as much fun.
I just hurt for you because it’s like, you got through the worst part of the entire game and didn’t even get the reward of killing bahamut or ultima weapon etc.
I’m sorry man.
I do get why some people would love. Seems like a collectors dream of a game. It’s just a shame the way they handle glamour is very poor compared to transmog. My guildies in wow always complain about running out of space and having to delete items. Also no mount tab? Seems like those would be easy fixes
You go to an inn and set up outfits called “glamour plates” from armour stored in your armour chest. There’s a mount collection tab, also minions. The UI has a lot of options that WoW doesn’t, and they’re not all readily apparent. You should be able to add friends and join linkshells on a free trial account, just not Free Companies. Your friends really did you a disservice.
Maxed out? Again? No way!
We need to circle back in about a month and see how many of those are free trial accounts.
Not only that, let’s say I quit after I play for 2 weeks. Does my spot free up or stays “occupied”?
WoW also has servers/realms with queue.
That would be my question…how many of the players clogging up their servers are actually paying vs. Free to play
They aren’t actually maxxed out.
They close servers to ensure that every server on every DC is even, this has always been a thing on FFXIV.
Why don’t you go play that game if you’re so interested in it?
