Most people don’t play the game 24/7. Even when WoW was at its peak (TBC, Wrath) I was on the forums when I couldn’t be online.

Don’t get me wrong i enjoy both games, but FF is on the up and up while WoW has been in decline for years and BFA into SL only seems to be doing more damage to WoW than what they typical rate of decline has been.

WoW is absolutely still healthy. According to third party sources (which are naturally unreliable, of course, so take it with a grain of salt) retail has around 2.2 million players and classic had something around a million or so when I checked. The overwhelming majority of mmos are lucky to break 50k-100k active players. lol
Is it wotlk healthy? Nah, but no mmo comes anywhere near those numbers.
My point is that there are enough folks to go around easily and people can play more than one game at a time besides. FF14 has gained some popularity recently but it doesn’t overly matter. They can simultaneously be healthy–it’s even a good thing. A bit of competition in the market should be good for both games.
