FF14 doesnât have 12 million active players. Iâve played the game and itâs an absolute ghost town after a few weeks into a new expansion. They would need 10x more servers than they have to host 12 million. Their 30~ servers can MAYBE host a few hundred thousand concurrently.
1.2M sounds about right - > thatâs about what their current server listing and average server capacity could handle. The queueâs during a new expansion are pretty long, but they would need to open at least 50-70 more servers if it even touched 5 million let alone 12.
Less of an assumption and more of an educated guess based on available information. If FF14 had top subscription numbers in the MMO market theyâd be shouting it from the rooftops. âcome join the #1 played MMO game in the world!â - because why wouldnât they? The first MMO to top WOW concurrent subs isnât going to be quiet about it. Thatâs a mammoth achievement.
So buy a story-driven MMORPG and then pay to not play the story? Really?
How about people buy an ordinary exploration-based MMO if theyâre not into story content and want a PvE alternative to WoW? Like GW2 or ESO, I dunno.
They arenât wrong half the time but when the top 0.1% says something is broken and they ignore the professionals who get paid to playâŠthen we got an issue.
Probably a bit of both? Even Blizzard has come out and said it needs to work on communication with itâs players.
Iâd argue the Allianceâs Allied Race list is living proof they donât listen. What have Alliance players been asking for, for years? High Elves, Broken Draenei, Wildhammer Dwarves, Mechagnomes like from Ulduar, and Vykrul. What did the Alliance get? Void Elves, Lightforged Draenei, Dark Iron Dwarves (the most acceptable of the Alliance Allied Races), Mechagnomes (AKA Junker Gnomes, Diaper Gnomes, etcâŠ), and Fat Humans.
How can you say they listen to their players with that atrocious list of Allied Races?
