The first hour of the game is running around talking to people. When you actually do get in combat, the games feels like you’re playing in mud.
At least WoW is responsive and puts you in combat literally 30 seconds after you create your character.

WoW is too focused on combat.
I’m genuinely curious about all the “input” comments on 14. I don’t notice it and it seems extremely responsive, even in Savage content. Maybe it’s the fact that some animations don’t instantly display a number above the enemies head, but the damage is technically already dealt.
Having played both , they are totally different games , heck they almost feel like a different genre …
I think both are pleasing to play but i do prefer wow .
What part of “warcraft” threw you?
That’s, unfortunately, the game’s biggest weakness - it starts out sloooooow
I can promise it gets way better once you get out of ARR and classes and fights get more complex and involved, but it’s a really big ask and something I always make sure to try and prepare new players for ahead of time
Out of curiosity, which class did you pick to start with?
Tis the way of the Warcraft bro
I was super excited when i started it last year and made a sexy cat man.
Then oh boy was it boring. Running around a city is no fun at all. The controls are awful. The combat when you finally get there is sluggish.
It might turn in to a fun game, but i was so turned off by its intro i will never find out.
Shame as my cat man really was sexy
Folks.
FF and WOW may both be online games, but they are not built for the same purposes.
If you’re bored in FF, then a story driven experience is not for you.
It really is that simple. Just not for some folks. That’s all.
And I do agree, the later part of ARR (Where I am right now) is a sloooog. I’m skipping cut scenes routinely.
Then again, I’ve always done that in a JRPG… I’ll take some of your story, but not ALL of it GOOD GAWD.
Well, being honest, running around one-shoting everything in wow is not thaaat fun tbh
Thanks for your feedback!
The last few expansions to SWTOR feels the same way. Just one cutscene after another. I prefer to play a game, not watch a movie.
Stick with it and you’ll be pleased The ARR story, especially post-2.0, is rather infamous for being not very good, but once you hit Heavensward the plot picks up tremendously
Then Stormblood is pretty hit or miss, personally I like it but others don’t. And then Shadowbringers which was written by the same person who wrote the Dark Knight storyline (generally regarded as one of if not the best class storyline in the game) and honestly you just won’t find a better story in an MMO, period
No law saying you can’t play 2 games and actually enjoy them for different reason.
well, go and farm mythic+20 then, so much combat.
I’m not sure why FFXIV is considered the ‘big contender’ when it’s a straight up bargain bin MMO for people who watch the lowest brow anime. GW2 and ESO are the only other real MMO alternatives.
Yeah I’m sticking with it. I can always pause my MSQ and go do something silly.
I’ve begun to earn cash performing as a bard!
I have transcribed a few of my own files to have exclusives. Folks really seem to like Billie Jean, Dream On and… the theme to Cheers. It’s gotten to where if I pass through an inn or bar, I’ll stop and play it (53 seconds).
Always gets a fun reaction from players.
because it’s the most played MMO in the world?
There are billions of morons in the world with terrible taste, that doesn’t mean it’s not bargain bin trash for dummies
You really want people to know that you don’t know what you’re talking about, don’t you?
I mean… you’re trying so hard.
