Are they more bursty or sustained or both? how are each? I’m completely new to ferals, i was told in wrath they have to hit from behind, is it the same in cata? how are the self heals?
Thinking about making one, anything else you think i should knwo about them would be great to know!!
Both burst and sustain is high. In comps like FLS they just get rips up on multiple targets for spread pressure. Their single target burst is great too. Can’t go wrong with feral all xpac and MoP included its amazing.
How’s their healing? Do they have to hit from behind? not counting bleeds/rips
Shred is from behind so yeah outside of rips/bite you need to be behind them. When you leap to a target you get a non positional ravage for free as a proc. Uh their healing is good, but other hybrids have stronger like spriest or ele. In MoP feral healing is insano, more grounded in Cata.

Im not as familiar with feral as I am with rogue, but rogue has a viable spec with 1h hemo to avoid backstab positional requirements and a bunch of other positives.
So maybe theres a feral spec focused on mangle over shred, but I assume shred is the go to option.
Ele has 8k healing surges for 10% of their mana. They can’t even top themselves off.
That said, ferals are incredibly strong. Very tanky, one of the highest damage outputs, insane CC with instant clones and high number of stuns. Can go bearform and outheal most everything in the game with enraged regen. Can’t be kited with powershifting, although roots now work.
