Feral Druid Adjustments Coming Soon - April 3rd 2023

Can you add more threat to bear on aoe/single target bosses? I dont wanna be a support tank in dungeons

We all know bears are arguably the worst tank spec there is in wotlk… Now you go ahead and remove the dodge glitch which made dodge stacking an option for bears to stay alive somewhat better. Now with that removed bears are going to get smacked on harder than ever. making them even less viable as a tank… Blizz you need to do something with bears to make them at least OK as a tank…

Idea: Glyph of Barkskin: Reduce the cooldown of barkskin by 15 sec. While in Dire Bear Form you gain permanent Barkskin, and you take 10% less damage from all sources.

something along those lines would make bears at least an option as a tank for dmg, that doesn’t even account for the abysmal threat issues they have.

This buff inadvertently or otherwise kind of did. Faerie Fire (Feral) currently procs when used in Bear Form / Dire Bear Form, giving them a free rage cast every 6 seconds.

While I mostly agree with your sentiments, it also feels like a bit of a case of “you can’t please everyone.”

The one seeming constant with WoW seems to always be that things are subject to change. It just sucks when whatever it is that changes happens to be something that you enjoy, and the change makes it less enjoyable for you.

I been a Feral Druid since 2004 and have played all expansions (DragonFlight exception) and I must say playing WOTLK in 2023 is much more enjoyable with the changes Blizzard has done. 2008 WOTLK was very frustrating for me as a Feral Druid back then just as now it was very hard to get into raids as a Feral Druid ( Dual Talents is a lifesaver). But its great that Blizzard is addressing this issues, back in 2008 most feral druids just disappeared and created Alts! Not Me “PLAYERS” Like me they don’t make them like they used to, and I been playing since the release of Warcraft 2.

That number isn’t accurate and the actual number assumes that Smourne gives you ARP cap, and any “last” item that gives you ARP cap is going to reflect the same gain.

To the painted into corner/can of worms/Pandora’s Box thing: this isn’t any of that.

Patch 3.3.5 was the only practical option but it should have always followed that adjustments were necessary if “intent of the original” meant (or means) anything.

Wrath’s intent was bring-the-player. The charm of imbalance through Vanilla and TBC was gone. Devs did their best to ensure players didn’t really care what class someone was as long as their ability matched the group’s needs.

To stay true to that, setting up 3.3.5 for Classic and walking away was never a sensible course.

Players and devs know exactly what is going on: it’s about parity, which means inclusion, which means options, which means play longevity, which means subs, which means happiness for players and success for Blizzard.

I guess it’s all right the dev team took a phase or two to realize that “x% against non-player/non-pet” resolves the sticky questions and can be adjusted on the fly.

There is no “too much.” All we get are more options and diversity in play.

So, don’t be hesitant, Blizz. You’re making your game better.

this. its so troll to be the only ability that doesnt reset after boss encounters

Sure it has nothing to do with the massive boost to str from the stacking buff lol.

Full bis set with LK heroic weapons , ARP capped sim at 1500 DPS lower than without shadowmourne and previous tier offhand lol that’s how ridiculous it is

Again this is the reason it is like that not because of the STR gain. Both ret and UH scale better with STR than warrior do. Now with ARP cap perhaps that is different. I don’t run sims myself for the other classes, but there is someone in the paladin discord who has been talking with people who represent the classes well to get these figures. I believe for warrior it’s somewhere in the 1.2-1.3k DPS gain range ARP capped from what I’ve seen, and we can’t properly SIM it for ret because TAiaj doesn’t function properly. The joke of it being that it may take a warrior months to get the rest of this gear to actually see the full gain from Smourne because of ARP cap.

Definitely curious how they compare if we were to say remove 1 BIS piece for a lesser piece from both SIMs and now suddenly the warrior isn’t ARP capped. How much of a difference did that make between ret/fury for Smourne because I’m going to assume that earlier on in the phase it’s just strictly better for ret because of how much less gear dependent we are than fury.

We’re like what, 3 months into P2 right now. How many people actually have BIS BIS at this point. You have to compare reality to the SIM. Obviously there will be some % of fury warriors able to achieve their dream here and blast, but how many lockouts on average is it actually going to take to achieve this for someone without some extraordinary luck.

Or hell even someone with bad luck? 4-5 months to be able to achieve this?

Don’t forget it takes probably around 8-10 weeks minimum to craft it. Most unlucky players or more casual players probably won’t have it until week 16+. Meaning they should in theory be well geared at that point

It depends on a lot of factors. People are saying about 5 weeks is going to be the earliest.

If the drop rate is any similar to the valanye shard drops . Considering you need friendly rep and 25 primordial saronite just to craft shadows edge before you even starting to gather the 50 shards. 5 seems really early

Without knowing myself the pieces you’d build around to hit ARP cap I can’t say you need “x” number of pieces from ICC to fully utilize the ARP from Smourne myself. I’m sure the information is out there in some warrior discords. It may be easier for warrior to get more out of Smourne than ret before BIS BIS, it may be easier for ret over warrior I’m not sure. I just know that saying it’s a 1.5k DPS gain with certain pieces doesn’t exactly paint the whole picture of how good it is prior to that point. Obviously it’s still BIS for both classes but who actually gets more out of it before they obtain more pieces I can’t say.

My guy the drop rates are 50% on normal 75% on heroic. No where near val shards how can you even say that.

You can rep farm, you can buy all of the saro. There is certainly going to be people completing them earlier than others will be capable of doing.

I barely ran ICC back in the days, I couldn’t tell honestly .
A quick 10 min quickly made, conservative gearset with no heroic pieces.
4tier piece, dal ring. Badge cloak previous tier OH and 1 toc N trinket ,even ulduar ranged weapon

MH shadow edge to shadowmourne sims at 1300 differential. For fury . Arp cap isn’t too hard to get if you get a deathbringer
