I would love this. I’ve been playing since sometime before the Ahn’Qiraj War Effort event, I remember gathering supplies for it. I never reached endgame until Wrath, so I missed some stuff, but I still have that same sense of familiarity with the world that you do. Azeroth just feels like home, and I want to see that home with fresh eyes again.
I know they can’t just undo the Cataclysm in a single expansion, but I’m so excited for Midnight because we’re getting that Quel’thalas revamp. I’m still excited for TWW because I want to use my old flying mounts with dynamic flight, and I can’t wait to play some of the hero specs. Plus, Earthen and Nerubians are cool. I’m just not that excited for Khaz Algar because it’s not someplace we’ve been before and it’s not someplace we’ve heard about for ages. The Dragon Isles was new, but we’d been hearing about it for a very long time.
The Cataclysm really bugs me though. I was just leveling a dwarf hunter earlier today and I wanted to get a dark brown bear pet for him, but the lowest available zone for it was Ashenvale. Traversing the entire length of Darkshore on foot, I was reminded just how broken it is. You have to jump into flooded ravines just to cross spaces that used to be roads, it breaks my heart.
