I’m just finishing up the Felcycle questline and have thoroughly enjoyed it. But, I’ll be the first to admit I would have never discovered any of these solutions myself.
I’m glad there’s a community that is willing to share their discoveries and findings with everyone else. But, does the dilution of the perceived rarity of secret mounts reduce the desire for such mounts? In other words, if more people have it, does it make it any less attractive to acquire?
I went out of my way to drive to the grocery store to get this new limited edition mountain dew mount! Only to find out it would be re-released in a different color.
I don’t have an opinion on the felcycle but yes I think there should be rare mounts in the game. I think the 0.1% drop rate on the MoP WB’s was fine. Same with the Love Rocket. Too bad they were nerfed.
There are so many mounts in the game that you can trip over a rock and have one jump into your collection (we’re well past 1000+). They should have more limited time mounts, keep mounts that are currently unavailable from coming back, and put more rare drop mounts like Soundless and Karokta.
One thing I’ve learned from this situation is that all game progression, mounts, and transmogs always be made easier to get sooner or later. So why stress? Just wait a month or two, and you can basically get them for free—no grinding quests or rep needed!
0.1% drop rate is fine when the mount is available year round to farm. When you only have a 2 week period once a year with a limited amount of attempts to get it, 0.1% (I think it’s actually lower for the Love Rocket) is just weird and annoying.
You had to solve 9 mysterious orbs, in a secret location, using the brain power of 45k+ people in a Discord server to break down the 413 steps needed to unlock it.
If this mount were any rarer… it would still have horns and be mooing at us.
Eh, we already know this isnt the case with the fel cycle, the grind will be approximately the same and slightly hard unless you do part of the Azeroth secret thing to get the toys.
No. The obnoxious process reduces the desire for such mounts. I cannot imagine putting this much time into anything for the mount reward itself. You need to enjoy the process more than the reward for something like this to be fun.
Same goes for people that complain about their triple digit invincible runs. You loved that stuff and are probably disappointed that it’s over with more than excited for the mount itself.
