Feint Nerf

If you’re going to change Feint so it doesn’t proc poisons anymore, can you please fix the actual bug with Focused Attacks not returning energy from off-hand crits with Fan of Knives?

It’s kind of insane to me that you guys are “fixing” this when so many more significant bugs exist and have been reported since beta.

Also, what happened to communication? Were you going to say anything about this?

God I’m so glad I quit LKC.

Like the Feral omen of clarity bug that they made a solution to that you were fervently opposed to, and whined and complained about for months?

Making FFF proc OoC 100% of the time is not a bug fix. And this is consistent with my stance on that, so I have no idea what your point even is.

Months? Are you on drugs?

Proving my point quite well in the reply.

I still have no idea what you’re trying to say. I was opposed to a significant buff to a class that wasn’t underperforming, and I have been opposed to class changes in Classic in general. There’s nothing inconsistent about my stance, here. And “fixing” Feint is a change nobody asked for or wanted.

Blizzard fixed a bug with feint. It was never intended and they fixed it shortly after they fixed it in dragonflight. Blizzard added a solution to the bugged omen of clarity procs which was less than intend - but implemented in a lazy fashion to combat bearweaving. I see a hyprocrite that is happy to abuse a bug and then get angry when others are fixed. Against bug fixes because you know rogues abuse more unintended bugs than anyone else for their benefit and can’t stand to allow others who are suffering from bugs that make their classes worse. That is literally the definition of a hyprocrite.

Is there anything else the voices in your head are telling you?

Are you really referencing FoK spam? Literally everything that goes into it works as intended, with the exception of Focused Attacks because it currently doesn’t give offhand energy via crits, when it’s supposed to. Rogue aoe is supposed to be even stronger than what you see.

Go on, tell me about how FoK abuses bugs. Elaborate it.

I’m opposed to changes that tweak class balance/mechanics to work differently from how they worked in retail 3.3.5 patch, even if they were technically “bugged” back then. According to patch notes from 3.3.3, Feint was changed to no longer proc poisons. If it’s currently proccing poisons on Classic Wrath it’s behaving incorrectly and should be patched at some point, though I agree that it doesn’t sound like a terribly high-priority bug unless it affects PVP (I don’t PVP on a rogue so I’m not familiar enough with the in-depth nuances of rogue PVP to know if it’s relevant).

Feint is better used as a defensive CD in that regard. It’s not great in that scenario, but it’s better used to mitigate 50% of whatever aoe is being slapped in your face over 20 dps.

Weaving feint is something you do in raids because you can, not because it’s needed. Like, you glyph it so it’s free and use it after Envenom for the guaranteed poison application. It’s not some major thing, just something that exists. Fix feint, it doesn’t matter, but to have Blizzard fix feint while ignoring Focused Attacks is just a slap in the face.

They only communicate when they’re in trouble - generally just to tell players they’re going to communicate better in future. Then they revert to making unannounced changes. Works everytime.

This is a disgusting and unnecessary change. Ferals got a buff that will put them way past rogues by ICC time and are already competitive right now ontop of their utility. Rogue pretty much only brings tricks which is a dps loss until ICC.

The Classic dev team can’t communicate anything related to the game, let alone bug fixes. Then they’ll contradict the change they made the week following putting it in…and repeat.

Stop supporting Classic imho

if the window is broken and your room is getting dusty, what would you do?
Blizzard: let’s put the dust under the carpet.

I don’t understand why blizzard did this, rogue was already simming bad compared to the other classes next phase, and feint has been an ability that could proc on hit abilities including poisons since release of classic in 2019. This also completely goes against them saying they would make announcements before dropping class changes.

Hi Apathy,

Focused attacks is not bugged. It is behaving the same way it did on 3.3.5 where offhand hits with Fan of Knives do not grant energy.

github dot com/JamminL/wotlk-classic-bugs/issues/295 this ticket was recently updated with the new findings that the video people were using to say it was broken, was actually completely in line with only main-hand crits during Fan of Knives giving energy.

I hope this clears things up and you don’t feel slapped in the face anymore.
