This is actually crazy. It is like 6 hours later and still no update…Log into do xmas stuff and cant. And the fact there is no staff, not even on non holidays…FEEELSBADMAN
I’m genuinely surprised that people care enough to make several posts about this. Just out of curiosity, what are you hoping to get from the Christmas gifts?
its about achievements, and the fact we pay for a service that provides holiday events to 1/8th of its playerbase.
You think everyone who is posting is just wanting to open presents for achievements?
I’m not sure what the 1/8th of its playerbase means, but I also still don’t really get why anybody cares that much.
Can’t you get the achievements on one of your Alliance toons? I suppose there are some people who are new to WoW Classic that just came back for Cata Classic, want to complete achievements and only play Horde. I’d be skeptical of that being 1/8th of the playerbase, but maybe it is!
and more to the point, many are bringing it up in the hopes with massive forum appeal, it will reach SOMEONE in blizz. Bet SoD has no problems with xmas event. It alright you’re okay with no comms or feedback when things are broken, but most arent. 1/8th represents the alliance on my server. We are mostly horde…and the 45 alliance players are just fine. You dont have to understand. You dont care and thats fine. So maybe just goto the next post and assume because you dont care everyone else shouldnt either!
Dude, it is Christmas. Don’t expect someone to be working at a non-essential business doing non-essential things on Christmas.
Dude, its Christmas. Don’t expect people to be happy when you don’t deliver on something that happens once a year. Again, SoD and retail are working just fine.
Getting the caroling achievement on Alliance doesn’t give you the equivalent as Horde (currently), so yes, many Horde are stuck waiting on it purely for an achievement.
I assume the 1/8th remark is because only around 1/8th of Cata players are Alliance and they’re the only ones who got a working seasonal event. Not sure if that number is remotely true or just joking hyperbole though.
On Whitemane, there are about 40 alliance total. So it may actually be even less than 1/8th. And before the sweaty trolls say CHECK IRONFORGE PRO or whatever. Those only count logs and pvp ladder. edit after checking 97.8 horde with a 4k pop. --https ://ironforge.pro/population/classic/-
Oh, okay I see what you’re getting at. Yeah, anyway, I hope you’re able to get your achievement and presents!
Good luck and Merry Christmas!
Sounds like it would be pretty easy to fly into IF / SW and get the presents… In fact, looking at LFG chat, there are quite a few people doing just that on my server.
thats great for you? are you even on a cata server? and awesome so now we have to jump thru several hoops just to get something that should already be available. Again with the simping for blizz. How about just dont say anything at all? Clearly you dont care that people want what we were supposed to get. Maybe just move on bud.
I’m on Mankrik, so yes I am on a Cata server. Is it a bug, yep. Does it suck, yep. Is there also a reason why the Blizz devs might not be fixing it today, yep.
So, instead of attacking anyone who is trying to be sympathetic to the entirety of the circumstances, you could take 10 extra minutes to fly your humbug butt to IF and pick up the presents.
Blizz knows they have an issue, but (hopefully) they value their employee’s family time on Christmas more than they value an insignificant annoyance for the few players that really care about the achievement.
** Edit ** It seems to be fixed now.
And maybe be sympathetic to the fact that we had NO comms on the fact or acknowledgement. You decided to find a fix for them. Good for you. Some of us ask for what we pay for. And even a response is somewhat what we are asking. Nothing was said or done until 12 hours later despite many posts, bug reports and so on. Instead of adding your two cents to try and make someone feel bad for being upset, maybe just dont? Just as you dont care for my op, i dont care about yours either. Came to a public forum to express my frustration. Not to be baited by some dude whose only input is go fly to ironforge. You fail to consider low level people, alts and all of that. Cant fly lower than 60, so in your eyes…oh well. LOL. Buh bye buddy. edit and if you think not a soul is working at blizz rn…well i dont know what to tell you.
Saw an 83 horde prot pally in IF behind the tree getting beat on by the guards. He really wanted his presents. Dead server, only ones at the tree were me and my friend who was afk.
Hope he got them. Didn’t interfere with his mission.
Afterwards, verified our presents in Org were busted after I got done with presents on my alliance toons. Figures.
Yes. Get off the game, and go see your family. They miss you.
Blizzard is disrespecting my religion. Wouldn’t you care about that? As a Santa Clausian it’s a religious ritual for there to be presents under the tree for Christmas. Yes, I believe Santa Clause is god. He’s omniscient. He know when you are sleeping. He knows if you’re awake. He knows if you are bad or good so be good for goodness sake!!! He has a list of every boy and girl and he checks it twice.
Of course I believe that my religion should affect public policy. Our health care policy should be based on the elf that wants to be a dentist in the documentary Rudolf the Red Nosed Raindeer. The elves that make the toys tells us what our public policy should be for workers in a Clausian ordered system. Face it, if you don’t align yourself with God you’ll be punished. Blizzard’s employees shouldn’t expect anything but coal in their stocking this year. Think for just a minute how all that coal will affect climate change. Blizzard’s employees are contributing to destorying the planet.
I worked at leveling my alts on Christmas. I worked on the dailies even though it’s Christmas. I worked on leveling my enchanting and cooking. I don’t see why blizzard employees shouldn’t work on Christmas when I was there working on wow for hours this Christmas.
It should be easy for a giant gaming company to deliver a working holiday event a single time in 5 years of Classic releases. And yet, here we are.
The “it’s Christmas!” excuse only works once a year, but they fail to deliver working events far more regularly than that. It’s not like it’s impossible for them to tell these things are broken until Christmas morning, then they get called in to work to fix them. They can test them internally. But apparently they don’t, because stuff comes out broken every time.
Is the Christmas presents the only thing in all of WoW for them to focus on and test? If so, then sure - there shouldn’t be any reason for anything wrong to occur with this event. Unfortunately, there are many, MANY other things that have a much bigger impact than this that they were probably watching / testing.
Bugs happen, whether it be in a game, software, manufacturing, etc… NO ONE can anticipate everything and deliver a perfect product 100% of the time. The fact that it was Christmas gives a very legit reason as to why it wasn’t fixed immediately. On top of that, it isn’t as if the presents couldn’t be opened today… or tomorrow… or anytime between now and the 2nd. Furthermore, it isn’t as if the presents give anything of extreme importance to the game.
