As a horde player, FvF has been a huge positive in improving the PVP experience.
On Oceanic realms (and outside of BG weekends), horde players can expect to sit in queue for 30-45mins for WSG, AB and EOTS without FvF. AV does not pop outside of an AV weekend.
With FvF, the queue times for horde drop down to 3-10 minutes… a huge improvement.
Personally I think reducing the premade cap to 5 players is a good thing. A competant 5 man team can still make an impact in AB / EOTS, and can make a huge difference in WSG. To me it just means you can no longer steamroll the other team, you need to work a little bit harder to secure a win, and most importantly, it levels the playing field for pugs / solo players - a team of competant pugs still has a chance to beat a team of 5 + pugs.
TLDR:
- FvF has made a huge difference to horde queue times in the Oceanic battlegroup.
- In my opinion reducing the premade cap to 5 people helps to improve competition in battlegrounds.

Implement same faction battlegrounds permanently, no more tests. You will have more pvp participation, period. More participation equals more people playing your game. This is a no brainer.

BGs aren’t only about killing…they are about objectives. That is where healing IS the issue.
I need a blue post tomorrow saying HvH is activated again. The instant ques felt so good. Fighting against other horde is more fun too because most have had gearing issues with the lame que times so it feels like a more even playing field.

At what point did Blizz prove to have a brain, especially regarding PvP. If only they put as much effort into every aspect of the game as they did damage control in the midst of their buffoonery, we wouldn’t be having this conversation.
At this point I’m sure Blizzard realizes that intervening and making changes only led to people continuing to leave. Now damage control is remaining quiet rather than speaking lol.
ok test is over sh1tty results enable free faction change from horde to ally on the biggest imbalanced servers and lock people from making horde chars on horde dominated servers if the imbalance goes over 60% or so k cool thx

as an alliance player during this test, I have avoided all the other bgs but AV and stopped playing AV once I hit mark cap while the honor reward for the activity is nonsense. I can convince myself ill enjoy a few bgs it will be great, que up attempting the call the arms and when our first “let them win callout” comes 60 points into an AB im lucky to even bother finishing it before I go back to farming. Any alliance pvp interest that exists exists because they knew horde que would be awful in any statistically meaningful way, so giving horde infinity mode is not going to end well for the alliance pvp interest column. Despite the horde salt, alliance pvp interest is very real when the activity is appropriate valued for your time that is why prepatch pvp interest scared them and broke servers . Then they broke honor entirely and snuffed out season1 before launch. So all the wonky metrics you have seen now since bc launch has been through the bottleneck of alliance understanding loud and clear from blizzard that season1 isn’t worth their time so its not worth ours. A ton of other little factors combine and overlap now to maintain the lack of season1 for anyone doing anything else as well.

Here’s some perspective from a Horde who got sick of waiting 30+ minutes for a battleground and rolled an ally alt to PvP with. By the time I was 70 faction vs faction was enabled and I have since geared up to 260 resil without buying any arena gear.
Alliance whine a LOT about horde vs horde… on the forums. In reality it has no direct effect on an individual battleground. The reasons given for not having Faction vs Faction are completely ridiculous generalizations about the type of people who play horde vs the people who play alliance. There are tons of numbers being thrown around about win rate and faction balance, but I haven’t been able to see any metric more convincing than the horde que times.
From my personal experience I do not see much of a difference between horde and alliance win rate, at least while faction v faction is enabled. When I have to wait 30 minutes for a BG nobody is spamming “Go Next” and I have a lot more incentive to try hard. Also when the que times are low, casual hordies are more likely to join making the skill balance more even.
Saying que times are a reason to play alliance is insane. Lots of people play this game for PvP and not just to get pvp gear but to actually pvp. Even if there was a win rate issue, honor per hour is NOT a replacement for playing the game. If I have 45 minutes of free time I would love to be able to do a quick BG. I shouldn’t have to reroll, level to 70 and abandon friends to do this.

That makes so much sense, if true. I always noticed “Alliance” Horde side seemed to lose more often, but initially chalked that up to various split-second confusion (randomly running to the wrong base in WSG, not capping flags because they’re “already red”, etc).
He is also 260 resilience without any arena gear too, after the entire reroll effort. Such a king among men. Its almost like he is totally full of crap, and just wants to appear to be supporting HvH from an alliance character. Feel like we should ask them if their mommy knows they are posting on her character.
Queue times should not be an incentive to play a specific faction.

I’m not sure if I need to prove to a level 45 forum alt that I have a horde and alliance character at level 70?
You just did, mental weakling.

But it is when one side has more pvpers than the other. Has always been an incentive to play the less populated faction. It’s a checks and balance system.

I have to admit that being the minority helped get me halaa marks and I don’t feel like I’m potentially making people quit the game if I kill them unprovoked in the world, but there’s still only 20 people in a WSG.
My feedback on Same-Faction BG’s.
Was a welcome change to not have 15+min queue times.
As some of the other post above have mentioned, I feel like ally overall out gear horde players. While gear isn’t everything it does tip the favor in ally hands. I’ve seen so many horde in BG’s in all greens. But with the population balance that to be expected.
Premade change was welcome also, this was only due to queue times, it really sucks to have a 20+min queue and then get completely crushed by a premade. If the queue was 1minute that its not as bad, still sucks. But atleast i didnt have to wait 20+mins to get my butt kicked. But on the other hand there been some games where we actually beat the premade and this is quite fun but this only happens once in a great while. IMO, this should be all horde feedback this does not impact alliance players IMO they still have their 1min queues and fight horde(at least i assume they only fighting horde). Forcing people to switch factions to they can have 1 minute queues times is just absurd to try to make as a point of why we should not have same faction. People pay for their accounts and should be able to play the game as they want to play the game not forced to play ally because of queue times. I Really hope blizzard decides to put same-faction pvp i’m getting really tired of sitting in 20+minute queues. PVP is a big part of wow for me, while i do love raiding i do love pvp equally. If this long queue times continue could be time to end my sub.
Thanks blizzard for taking the time to read this.

Please bring this back so that those of us who rolled horde with friends can play the game without outrageous queues.
