Still trash.
I swear blizz is caught so flat footed and showing they just don’t care about classic.
It was a mess with prepatch and has continued with various problems.
The premades ruin it. The faction imbalance is ruining it and blizz has no good idea of how to fix it.
Yea because now instead of queueing into an AV where theres a 50% the alliance has atleast a partial premade (20/40) with at least 10 of those guys on disc we can queue the other BGs that pop instantly. If they added AV to the same faction test your queues would dissapear. Its an obvious outcome if you make the other 3 BGs instant and leave one unchanged that everyone on horde is going to flock to the 3 that are instant now especially if they have a better win rate in those BGs.
Your AV times are up because of premades. Horde refuses to queue it because of that. It’s nothing to do with HvH.
Same faction BGs are great and allow the horde to play without sitting in unreasonable queue times. Honor values being so low are too big a problem for both factions and create too huge a barrier for entry into arenas. Some people mainly want to do arenas and I know many that have quit because they couldn’t make it over the 200+ hour honor grind hurdle. As for the incentive packages, they are completely insignificant and everyone would be better off with just having higher honor values in order to feel like their time is being better spent and more rewarded, along with being able to enjoy other aspects of the game with reasonable time investments.
The alliance incentive loot boxes are an absolute joke. If it is not bonus honor and BG marks then don’t waste your time.
Alliance queue times have gone up, so thanks for creating yet another problem.
On horde side, keep the masks. Makes easier to identify the enemy, very good addition if we just have to have same faction BG.
Get rid of same faction BG and add horde to alliance transfers.
Or at least just make it Merc mode.
Honor values are so stupidly low that it still makes me not want to do BG at all.
Horde here, just a couple things to give feedback/opine on:
First, I’ve been having a lot of fun the past couple days being able to PvP and get honor efficiently. However, I’ve noticed that in general, the PvP gear itself is far too expensive for the honor gains per BG (even a win). My BG win % tracker is showing about 60/40 in winning favor, which is nice. Even with the occasional 5 man premade at peak hours, I can still manage to crank out a win.
I’m seeing a lot of Alliance complain about their win rate dropping and I can’t bring myself to feel sorry for them. After a year+ of 20min-2hr queues depending on the BG to face nothing but full premades, you guys are going to just have to get a grip. Also, vs. PUG Alliance, I’m actually losing more often than against Horde. I don’t know if that’s because of a skill/gear/coordination difference, but the faction is doing well in BGs.
I do however sympathize with Alliance players on server balance. Transfers should have never been allowed, and that might have alleviated that issue. It’s far harder to abandon a character on a realm you’ve spent so much time on, and so much easier to just pay to go to a server where your faction is in command. I myself took a freebie off Herod and went to Heartseeker, and by the end of p2 it was nearing 90% Alliance (obv 100% now). I went to a PvE server after quitting for some time and as much as I liked open world PvP, it made sense to get off Heartseeker and play with my friends. I don’t know if that’s then solution for everyone, but it did make for a nice change. Unfortunately, that means the ONLY meaningful way to get honor is via BGs, which if I’m understanding this right, Alliance has the same issue. This week is a godsend for PvE Horde players.
The server balance issues will likely never be solved. PvP servers are great in Classic because of the immense size of the place, but with everyone in Outland the problem is condensed. I don’t think Blizzard will ever help with this, but I do know that if Horde have a way to get Honor regularly without open world ganking, they’ll take it. I’d be interested to see some data on how this test affects that.
RADICAL IDEA: Let horde have the Horde V Horde but compromise and give Alliance Dual specs.
We get instant queues and they get a draw to their faction and an easier time to form groups due to a lack of overall population.
As I said in my previous post. HvH contribute to lower queue times in AB/WSG/EOTS, so there is little incentive to queue AV where you risk running into a premade.
HvH has destroyed alliance AV queues and it is directly responsible for that problem.
Congrats Blizzard? You just shifted the problem from one faction to the other. Hope you’re happy.
give alli A v A AV!
Giving 1 faction am incentive while ignoring the other will drive people from the game.
Ally ret palladin here from benediction
This HvsH bg thing is a terrible way to fix the problem. And getting rid of premades goes against so much of a mmo…kill community, yeh thats great. The community was killed in retail and look where it is now.
Horde knew what they were signing up for when they chose it. They wanted to do the whole min/max thing despite knowing a ton of people were going to do the same. Long que times really shouldnt have been a surprise to them.
If you add in HvsH bgs why not add in more things that were not in TBC…where will it end?? When will people stop complaing about things until they get what they want.
In my opinon you should allow a free xfer from horde to alliance. If people want shorted que times they will take it. And if they want to keep their racials then they can stay horde. Either way they were given a free option to to fix their problem.
Also the loot boxes are terrible.
Another update from me. Ludaheals-Alliance-Westfall.
Our quest are no longer instant, we now have 2-30 minute ques. We lose almost all pugs still.
Alliance players often quit because the games going poorly. When this happens the system takes 2ish minutes to find a replacement usually resulting in a 14vs15 when 15v15 was already a lost proposition.
We hardly ever get anything from the boxes the odd time we do win.
The changes you have made have the overall effect of benefitting the horde more than alliance, as usual.
Let us premade again since Horde can now ALSO premade, at least we can win some games then.

As a solo queue player, the changes are better. If people want to premade, I would suggest making some sort of premade vs premade only queue. Seems like they’re looking to be competitive in bg’s, and something like this should of been implemented in Classic anyway, as premade stomps aren’t fun for either side.
The biggest problem with this current change is you can still queue into a bg with no healers. You should have a role selector so bg’s are more fair and balanced.
Please remove the masks and tabards, they’re dumb.
Forcefully changing the appearance of a players character in a MMO should rarely if ever happen outside of specific quests etc.
You’re missing the point, premades vs pugs is poor game play and poor game design. Its not about Horde or Alliance. Solo queueing into a premade is never fun.
Classic phase 2 as Alliance was not fun. Port into IF, ganked by 5 rogues. Running to a dungeon, corpse camped the entire way. They’re finally making changes to fix poor gameplay, it might not be a solution to your specific problem, but you can quit or deal with it.
It makes the game better overall and they’ll work on fixing your issue in some other fix.
Seems like the quality of games has gotten worse as people that shouldn’t be queuing are queuing for boxes, bringing down the quality of the games, which is then a disincentive for those that enjoy it.
The limit on premades coupled with horde being able to win trade on all bgs save av have been a detriment to the casual pvp experience. Because of the easier honor due to such measures av has been diminished in pvp participation and same faction battlegrounds create more problems than they solve.
I hope that tests which might actually address the problem like a general honor buff, wrath classic, and rated bgs are implemented as the concern of preserving classic without changes is not a concern to blizzard.
You broke a game that was ment to be balanced over time not these short-term players dictating things for the long-term players who want the overall experience to be what it is classic nostalgia and long que times was apart of it for some battlegroups was hell for horde and some for alliance and things balanced around 3months in, but now you want to set precedence of listening to the swipe next generation then burn it all as they leave with what they didn’t even want. (why helping the horde anyways they won almost all bgs got all the gear now playing Alts cryin bout longer que times since casuals hit 70)
