Feedback: Hunters

you can extrapolate from doing them now into how they will be. there is no new significant difficulty spikes going and the delves now are a joke and i expect that they will continue to be a joke. its almost as if they are designed for the casual player base and as such they dont want to take the difficulty to high…i dont agree with that but its what they are doing.

Now this I’m interested in. I was literally brainstorming this exact idea some hours ago. Trying to see what kind of a fallback I can come up with in the absence of MM. I got as far as seeing how far I could take this currently on live (as I hadn’t played BM in a while), but hadn’t yet taken it to the PTR. Our disagreement about MM aside, I really do appreciate this post.

Speaking of our disagreement…

I do apologise for this remark. In all honesty I got my responses mixed up with the argument I was having in another thread (same argument, different person), and I thought your response had come from them (hence my bit about how “you’ve read my posts”). Anyway, I still obviously disagree about this new MM. But either way, it didn’t call for that rude remark. So sorry about that. And as this post of yours shows you’re obviously not being disingenuous about all this.

Not necessarily. New season, new delves, new mechanics. And Zekvir ?? is anything but a joke.

And the new season will mean a difficulty bump for delves. They bump up heroic/mythic dungeons with new seasons, so I’d expect delves to get a bump as well.

The thing is, they can bump up the difficulty but, considering gear levels going into the season, 8s will still be in the realm of possibility for a section of the player base.

For sure, but they won’t be the exact same T8s we have now.

I imagine they will be very, very similar. People were doing t8s super early on TWW launch and that was with a very low level brann.

Now people have gear from season 1 on top of a leveled brann on top of general delve experience. I don’t really see delves in 11.1 being that difficult

No problem, really. I only get bothered by repeat heated arguments. I know this is the internet and everyone seems a lot ruder than they want to be, and we all come to the forums with a defensive mindset. We also sometimes write things that we wouldn’t say out loud. I apologize as well if I seemed rude at any point.

I’m still experiencing it, but I was pleasantly surprised how BM felt to play. Like I said, it’s only the underwhelming visuals that make the spec feel boring.

This is the talent setup I’ve currently playing on PTR. General Hunter talents can be adjusted as you prefer. On the BM-specific tree, I feel skipping Alpha Predator (which gives Kill Command 2 charges) and choosing Barbed Scales (Cobra Shot reduces Barbed Shot CD), Cobra Senses (Cobra Shot focus cost reduction and big damage bonus) and Serpentine Rhythm (Cobra Shots gets 25% more damage every time you shoot it, resetting after 4 shots) helped a lot to make Cobra Shot feel important. Also, I completely skipped any beast summoning, it felt very much like classic Hunter, even a little bit like ranged Survival, which focused a lot on DoTs.

The rotation is essentially: Kill Command and Barbed Shot at start, then 2 Cobra Shots and Kill Command continuously, weaving Barbed Shot into it to stack its buffs and keep them up.

If you’re suggesting Rapid fire doesn’t fit some players chosen theme, therefore should be changed or removed…idk what to say to that. Its a good addition to the new kit as it is decreasing Aimed Shot Cast time in a way Trueshot no longer can. Rapid Fire sure looks like it needs a damage and Cooldown buff on PTR, or at least thats my opinion. Its only 10% of your damage, but required to use Aimed Shot if you want Aimed Shots to feel good.

There are (very few) Ret Paladins that don’t use Wake of Ashes, even though it provides excellent damage. If someone doesn’t want to use some offensive abilities because of RP reasons, they are welcome to play how they want(unless they want a traditional pet on MM apparently).

Blizzard has many tasks, just one of those is ensuring specs toolkit including damage functions within a designated % range of the other specs. While they tune and design specs to be fairly equally viable, I don’t know how much thought would be put into a handful of players disliking rapid fire because they RP as a sniper.

Correct, and chances are 8s will be their balance target for high normal/low heroic raid, and some will be going in with mythic raid level gear.

This could be up in the air, as Blizxard can do 1 of at least 3 roads here:

  1. reset Brann to level 1 and have us build him again
  2. increase the max level for Brann and have us grind out the added levels
  3. knock Brann down a bit, but still reward those of us that leveled him up

This one’s not going to happen since that’s why we’re keeping Brann instead of getting a new companion. They didn’t want to have us re-level and re-equip a new companion with each season.

Did not think it was going to happen, but it is Blizzard we are talking about, and they have a tendency to either monkey paw or rug pull players, so I was not discounting the option.

i never had an issue with zekvir ?? and unless something else is announced for deles currently im not expecting anything different in the difficulty scaling.

Pressing X to doubt.

I tried to do something similar and it felt ok. The only weird thing to me is if I wanted a single pet build, bloodshed is blocked by all the dire beast stuff. Seems like call of the wild should be on that side. I don’t really play BM much though so idk.

Yeah, I tried to experiment with Bloodshed but Dire Beast was in the way.
