I’m not commenting for or against MM pets because they’re gone and never coming back, but seriously: think about it for just a moment and see if you can’t come up with a real-world profession that would use pets, like say, a dog, to track and kill animals. It’s right under your nose.
i dont have to pretend i have used dogs in hunting irl. but guess what that sounds more like bm to me.
The marks pet has mostly been a liability since bfa in situations where you have to use it because nothing in the rest of the spec interacts with it. At the same time lone wolf has uniquely screwed marks by making you decide between appropriate damage or appropriate utility, which nothing else has to decide between.
I’m sure yall will figure out how to do your world quests as bm or without a pet.
The hunter spec that uses an animal, MM, doesn’t make sense, but the other hunter spec that uses an animal, BM, does make sense. Got it. Thanks, IRL hunter.
And yet, MM in this rework still relies on a pet. The pet isn’t going away.
That doesn’t make it a liability, that makes it at least neutral. Lacking a benefit does not make it a liability by default.
I still don’t see this as an issue. The utility of lust is one of the most widespread buffs in the game. Hunters, Shamans, Mages, Evokers all bring it. They could bring back drums, so that hunters could lust without using a pet, as well. And the damage loss for a boss by summoning a pet to cast lust is less than what you’d lose by not casting lust in the first place.
Dude, do you even play this game?
Do you even logic?
- You need an active sub to post on the forums.
- I’m posting on a level 80 character, you’re level 16.
So yes, I obviously am playing this game. Do you have any other silly questions to ask?
In arena for example it’s way more of a liability because you have to keep it alive for ms, freedom, pet sac, and intimidation. However this pet isn’t KC leaping across the map every other global and is extremely fragile and often gets one shot or bled faster than you can heal it. All of bm and sv abilities are instant where you sometimes need to cancel an aimed or rapid fire in order to exil or mend. Bm has so many pets out at one time that they all end up getting the reduced damage beyond x targets conditions.
You literally don’t understand basic things about how the game is played at any level above wqs so it’s a pretty valid question
Fair enough, I don’t PvP. Especially competitively.
I understand quite a bit more than you would have experienced at level 16.
It’s also a liability in m+ because you’re giving up a lot of your basic utility to do a little bit more damage. Group formation will sometimes require you to be the lust class. Summoning and dismissing basic pets at awkward times is something that no other spec has to do. It’s not just arena. Yall are legit crying over world pve content maybe being slightly harder for you while the spec is taking a giant step forward in the content types that specs are actually built for.
Come back after you’re level 80 and then we can talk.
If you’re dismissing a pet mid-fight, that’s you. I’ve never had more issue summoning a pet to lust midfight than selecting ground aoe skills. You can even macro it to be quick and easy. Inconvenient and annoying? Sure but not gamebreakingly so.
Specs shouldn’t be built for only content less than a fraction of the player base ever does.
Nothing actually has to be balanced against anything else if the game is to be designed against non competitive content.
Do we design all cars based on F1 race cars? No.
Why should we design all classes based solely off competitive content?
That isn’t a cogent analogy. F1 teams have to build their cars around a pretty strict set of rules to be “balanced” against each other for a fair race.
Can you explain why it isn’t?
Edit: and you have, sort of.
So why don’t we apply those same rules to all cars?
Red bull and Ferrari have to build race cars on a very strict set of rules and specifications such that the race is fair and the cars are balanced against each other.
Because the gmc Acadia doesn’t race in f1. Tekken characters don’t play by world of Warcraft rules. Marks hunter has to be able to compete in arena and mythic plus, hence why it has to be designed around a rough set of conditions such that it’s not flat out better or worse than everything else.
And are F1 race cars street legal?
