Feedback: Hunters

or just play bm…

Yeah I really don’t care if that’s what they want to do.

thats kinda my point is that there is no reason to complain about not having pets when there is a spec designed around having pets.

I agree but also see where they are coming from. If I want a pet I will play BM or SV and it doesn’t matter to me. If Blizzard decides to force a pet on MM I will still play it. It’s no nevermind.

Ha no.

SV is about working in tandem with your pet to fight in melee with bombs. It has nothing to do with “using tools at hand”.

Keeping enemies away from you so you can fully move and aim your bow makes plenty of sense, compared to having them right in your face and interfering with you.

The whole class is based around using pets. Even MM still has a pet now. There is no petless hunter option at all.

it seems pretty resourceful to me. if i met a dude in the woods who can make bombs and befriend pets i would want them on my side.

then build abilities in the kit aka disengage to make up for that leaning more into the the skill of the marksman.

this is probably one of the dumbest things ive ever read

Wildfire Bombs are not ‘resourceful’, as they are depicted more as grenade-like weapons. That is the result of careful planning. Making bombs is not something you can do reliably in the woods.

All hunters get disengage as well, you’re not doing a good job of differentiating hunter from marksman.

Even coffee shops offer more than just 1 type of coffee, black. They offer different roasts, teas, and even juices - because the methods of preparing them all are relatively similar and attract a variety of customers.

A burger joint would typically offer more than just “hamburger” and “cheeseburger”. There’s bacon, doubling the number of patties, specific topping combinations (Mushroom, different cheeses, onions, pickles, lettuce, tomatoes), different condiments (Russian dressing, mustard, mayo, ketchup, relish, BBQ sauce) and that’s not even getting into different types of beef or even chicken. Heck, even hotdog stands typically offer a variety of things in the form of sausages, sides, and different drinks.

“a thing that only serves the thing it’s called couldn’t possibly be the thing it’s called”

correction, that was the dumbest thing ive ever read until whatever word salad this is

If you can’t read a simple paragraph, then that’s on you.

making grenades still sounds like a good skill to have.

a great survival skill.

im not going to say how on an open forums but depending on your location yes you can.

its almost like i said build it into the kit wow how you glossed right over that part.

no, its the fact that you’re taking an incredibly simple concept and then just twisting it whatever stupid way you like to fit whatever imaginary argument youre trying to make.

it’s legitimately stupid.

Throwing bombs at my feet in melee range never made sense to me. I’d be dead many times over if I ever threw a bomb at my feet. I do enjoy melee survival, but at the same time a spec fantasy focused partially on bombs makes more sense for a ranged spec where I stay outside the blast radius of the bomb when I throw it.

It’s too late now unfortunately, but I wish melee survival was a 4th spec focused on something other than bombs instead of deleting and replacing ranged survival.

to be honest this is a fair take.

It’s already in the hunter’s kit. In fact all of the ‘keep things away’ are part of the hunter’s kit. Binding Shot? Tar Trap? Concussive Shot? Intimidation? These are things every hunter can get, and includes pets.

cool then play into those things and make them better in mm than the other specs because that makes sense. relying on a pet does not for mm. relying on a pet for bm and survival does make sense.

I agree. This goes all the way back to what a mistake they made making survival the melee spec rather than BM. Ranged survival made sense as the technology and gadgets hunter. With all their bombs and traps and stuff that make no sense in a melee setting, but which worked great for ranged. That was the place for explosive shot.

Very true, but now we have Survival Hunter which is supposed to be this Primal Hunter fantasy.
That throws a manmade, futuristic bomb at enemies?

And MM is a Sniper but also Rambo, but also an Elven Ranger as well, but also uses Arcane magic, but also used shadow magic once because Sylvanas, but also had Wind Arrows and Windburst because Alleria.

Blizz needs to pick one.

Pets make complete sense for MM, as they always have. Your pet distracts the target while you safely shoot the target from afar as the main source of damage. Simple. BM on the other hand, your pet is the primary damage dealer and you give it commands and rile it up to do more damage.

That’s why this supposed need to reinvent the marksman fantasy is so absurd. It’s the same fantasy. You’re a marksman, dealing damage from afar, while the enemy is distracted. It’s the same whether they are distracted by your pet or your party’s tank.
