I’m not the one demanding that people limit how they can argue about this change. People who have emotional attachments to their pets should be able to bring up those emotions when arguing for keeping their pets. You say they can’t do that because “emotions are bad” or some silly reason.
What part of ‘I have arthritis’ did you miss?
They want us to roll over and show our throats while they gloat. Not happening. I will fight against losing my pets til I get confirmation that MM hunters will get the option to keep them. I will not give up on my stable of pets that my 20 year old MM hunter has.
Wait? They have fur? I thought they were scales?
technically they would be called scally/scallies, is a subgenre of furry
Again, if you think I said “emotions are bad,” you’re not comprehending my posts.
The TLDR for you is this: you have clear feedback about wanting your pets and all of y’all are making that feedback less effective by saying stuff like “they’re targeting us!”
I said this:
Then you said this:
So, yeah, that’s pretty much what you said. We’re not allowed to have any emotions whatsoever while discussing this. We have to limit our arguments to topics that are approved by you first apparently.
the pro-pet camp is sending their best when they have to immediately insult anyone that disagrees with them by calling them a furry dragon. I wonder if the irony is lost on them
Expecting emotional maturity in feedback is somehow saying emotions are bad? What?
You quoted me several times in that post and my words literally never said you can’t have emotions about this stuff. I just think it’s important to not approach this as if you’re being attacked. Like where did I argue you’ve gotta go through me to make an argument? “Pretty much” is doing SO much work in your post lmao.
You continue to be disingenuous with your responses. Perhaps you should dial back your emotions and try again.
I said that expecting players who have emotional attachments to their pets to not be emotional about keeping those pets is unrealistic. Then you went off the deep end by reinterpreting what I said as “emotional maturity” instead of what I actually said.
I dont see hwo they “went off the deep end” at all lol you seem to be trying to convince others/yourself that you’re arguing with a loony toon when thats not the case at all
This is an example of emotional immaturity. Which is why I responded in the way that I did.
Being attached to your pet is emotional immaturity. Seriously? That’s your argument?
And then you cried about us not engaging in good faith arguments?
You’re beyond any hope of ever having a good faith argument. You’re just a troll with nothing better to do than rile people up by telling them how they can or can’t complain about something.
Yes. Posting “they’re targeting me!” and without thinking is emotional immaturity.
Something I just noticed, the “forever” option for ignore is not actually “forever”, it’s just 1000 years from now.
Just to add a comparison to this thread, regarding Druids. Once upon a time, back during the original concept in Vanilla, there was the idea kicking around allowing Druids to shapeshift into any animal corresponding to the specific zone they are adventuring in. So, for example, in Darkshore we have Bear, Cat, Buck, Owl. But I guess at the time that was kiboshed for the forms they still have as base currently 20 years later. Likely because the technology and game architecture at the time just couldn’t support that. Now, however, the technology and coding certainly can support that concept, yet the Dev’s probably haven’t given that a thought due to the amount of extra work that would be. I think you see where I’m going with this.
Fast-forward to today, and look at the Druid as they are now (class tree a hot mess). So, let’s look at Markman Hunter. I think I see what they are doing here. Now, their original concept for the tree can be realised, since it’s probably and finally time to make these changes to the spec. Because they can. I’m not saying these are bad changes, nor am I saying they’re good either, because I haven’t had the chance to try them for myself. But I am saying they appear to be taking away some of our agency in favour of an original concept, but in a way that follows closer to the spec they imagined it should have been from the beginning. Personally, I am excited to try the new change to MM spec. And if I think maybe they went too far into the class fantasy then I will be among the first to ask for a reversion.
I still wish they could re-imagine Druid shapeshifting back to the original concept, but that’s probably asking for way too much. But I do give the Dev’s kudos for their imagination and for at least trying something new. We’ll see whether it works or not.
I get it. People don’t like change, or they don’t like change for changes sake. I’m willing to give the Dev’s the benefit of doubt, until I’m not.
My MM class fantasy includes no pets, and still have some agency in class/spec specific abilities and spells, better choices in the trees. A full on petless spec without the spirit animals would be ideal for me. It goes without saying I still wish Druid shapeshifting would follow it’s original concept as well.
To be clear for anyone else reading this:
It is emotionally immature to think it’s impossible to have a conversation without jumping to “they’re targeting me” in the context of this thread.
It is also emotionally immature to not be able to understand that, which was my main point in the reply.
Blizzard should have never added Lone Wolf to MM. They should have either created a fourth Hunter spec or another physical ranged class. Trying to shove a petless option into a pet spec has done nothing but bring trouble and this mish-mash “petless but not really totally petless” redesign is the end result of them trying to please everybody without doing the requisite work.
A 4th Hunter spec is a pipe dream, and we don’t need one when the devs can make everyone happy by just allowing pets for a slight DPS loss.
Initially the pet enjoyers were cool if there was a compromise. Yet now they say that’s somehow going to make everyone upset? Odd that they changed their tune recently.
We need three additional Hunter specs.
- MM with Pet
- Melee MM
- Lone Wolf BM
