I slept on it. I think there’s a lot of shock factor going on with the text “removing access to traditional tamed pets.” It shocked me for sure. Honestly I’m still not sure if I’m a fan yet. It really depends on how you deliver on this text:
Unique interactions sounds cool. Effects sound cool. Appearances are frankly a necessary feature in this direction. My hope is that these things can be expanded upon to ground-based beasts too. Ideally the ones we’ve collected over the years.

Last I checked, MM isn’t just a copy of BM. We do things differently. Which is why it’s a different spec. But you knew that already.

It’s my friend and companion. It’s great you only care about group content but that is not how everyone plays.
If Blizzard’s goal is to make people less emotionally invested in their game then yeah this is a brilliant change.

You have other specs to interact with your pets. And how is asking you what your solution is to smooth the transition to the new changes stifling feedback? With Blizzard, they don’t want your mindless complaints, they want actionable feedback. Have you done that? I haven’t read the entire thread. My feedback was for you as the hunter to be able to use your collection of pets to essentially reskin the eagle as a pet of your choice.
If I wanted to be playing those specs, I’d already be playing those specs (and in fact, as I said, I keep a separate toon for BM). Marksman hunters have been adventuring alongside their pets for 20 actual literal real-life years.
And you are also not the arbiter of what feedback Blizzard does or doesn’t find valuable, mate.

Neither are you? But you called people disagreeing with you in a public forum “stifling” feedback
Yes, because you’ve spent all afternoon just telling other people to shut up and like it.

Can you link me that post? Pretty sure all I’ve been doing is say people actually like MM for not having to deal with a pet
Haven’t said that at all actually. I’ve been doing the exact opposite and asking how they would smooth the transition into the new changes which you have yet to answer after being asked twice.
Odds are they will say “thats not my job and my feedback is valid”
They can make BL baseline without getting rid of the pet. They could add a petless hero track, they could add a petless spec, or they could go all out and add a petless class.
There are plenty of options besides ripping away our pets.

adding an extra spec or hero class to hunters is not realistic
Why not? Adding a new spec or hero talent track wouldn’t take any more work than redoing the entire spec like they’re already planning.

you’re right htey should just start adding specs and hero trees for every niche fantasy interest any subset has
I have absolutely no opinion on the new talent and button changes. I’ll never press any of them, because if my pets are forcibly taken away, I’ll be playing different characters until Blizzard inevitably rolls back this change and announces that Marks is getting its pets back.
My feedback is “go back to the drawing board. The aesthetic compromise you’ve settled on ruins the spec so thoroughly that the gameplay impact is irrelevant.”

That’d be better than ripping apart existing class fantasies that people have with existing specs.

This is horrid. Absolutely not. I have mained a MM hunter since BC, and have never chosen lone wolf. My pet is a tank and keeps mobs off of me, it give me lust or faster movement. I can send it to distract a mob while I loot a chest, or round up a bunch of spread out mobs to AOE down. It is insanely useful from questing to delves to certain achievements, and none of that even touches the fantasy/personal lore I’ve created with my main 3 pets over theast 15 years.
No one but mythic+ raiders give a damn about theoretical meta 5% extra DPS. I’ve done everything up to and including endgame heroic raiding routinely and never had a problem with my DPS throughput. This is an absolutely horrid unnecessary and frankly myopic change. I cannot believe you’re going to mandate an entire spec of hunters not be allowed access to an iconic part of their class, or use any of the rare tames they’ve collected over the years. You don’t like hunters “feeling frustrated” and “having” to call their pets out? Consider this hunter extremely frustrated at never being able to call their pets out. Why in the world would you not make this optional?

hopefully they add pets back so marksmanship as a spec will forever be -1 talent point compared to the other two hunter specs and will complain about that for the next 10 years when we can do this song and dance again
I will absolutely stop playing my hunter main if I can’t use my pet. This is really tone deaf. I’m shocked.

So make BL and Lone Wolf both baseline.
