Let’s take away the damage buff from lone wolf and see how many people still use it.
People used Lone Wolf because it was consistently the most optimal talent. Blizzard consistently MADE it the most optimal talent.
If Lone Wolf is an insurmountable design hurdle, the correct path is to remove Lone Wolf. The people who like it will be, at most, irritated at having a pet sometimes run in front of their cursor. The current path (mandatory Lone Wolf for everyone) has made a large number of players inconsolably miserable.
post on your hunter
Brann getting tank spec instantly solves the pet problem from a gameplay standpoint
gameplay >>>> aesthetics
no player left behind? happens all the time when they make gameplay changes that players don’t like…MM had some crazy pain points that needed to be solved
The issue with lone wolf made it annoying to have a pet out at all, the new changes solve that
if the main issue is aesthetics then make it so you can use your stable of pets as your spotter
assuming the changes go through as stated in the patch notes, what would smooth out those changes for you? don’t just say “bRinG PeTs BaCk derrr”
these changes are happening, what would make the transition smoother?
You’re discrediting people that have different opinions than you. Plenty of people played MM because they didn’t need to use a pet. There are people on the forums excited they do not need to use a pet.
Then why are they even bothering to ask for feedback?
to iterate on the changes? lol…don’t be so obtuse, the general gameplay philosophy is clearly going to change, feedback is for iteration
This isn’t the first time their stated change was “remove pets from MM”. The last time bombed hard, and it’s not looking any better this time around.
honestly curious, when was that the last time that was on the docket?
Oh well, hopefully they keep pets then for MM for you all and it’ll continue to be a huge mess of a spec with conflicting themes and gameplay
In BFA, they tried to change it from a talent to a level 10 ability that prevented you from using a pet.
What’s conflicting about a pet class having a pet? It’s like rolling a Mage and complaining that you have to cast spells.
The pet just exists and does not do anything that interacts with the kit?
No it’d be like rolling a Frost Mage and you have a spectral claymore that follows behind you but with no talents, hooks, or interaction tied to it so it’s like…why is it even there?
My pet, that can taunt and act as a MD target, who I can also heal, which comes in handy when doing stuff solo. Have you actually played that Hunter?
He’s talking about spells that you cast as the hunter that cause your pet to do an action, like Kill Command
You only read half of my post and replied. There are no MM talents, gameplay hooks, or anything that interacts with your pet. It’s a glorified walking single target DoT.
Ghonir, Vortan, nothing you say is going to argue people out of an emotional attachment to the pets they’ve spent years collecting and playing alongside. This is not a balance or performance or rotational smoothness discussion. The problem is not that what Blizzard is proposing won’t work, it is that a significant part of the player base HATES IT with every fiber of their being.
If you like the changes, great, but this is a feedback thread and all you’re doing so far is trying to stifle feedback.
Nope. You don’t get play that game after cherry picking my replies.
…no? People are giving feedback, you just don’t like it because it conflicts with what you want. You say nothing we say will change your mind, but couldn’t we just say the same thing to you?
“Nothing you say will change people’s mind if they don’t want a pet on MM.”
