3 posts later…
Thank you for listening! I’m very glad to be proven wrong!
Also, Blizzard, I love you guys, but can one of you please fix Tephratennae? (Since this is a hunter issue lol)
It’s been bugged since War Within launch. It’s a Wasp, but it’s flagged Exotic.
You can tame it as Marksman or Survival (because it’s a Wasp), but can’t use it (because it’s Exotic). Only Beast Mastery can use it.
Side note - This also creates an odd bug - if you tame it as MM/SV, since you can’t USE it, the game doesn’t register that its yours now. So it makes a copy of it in your Call Pet slot, but the rare doesn’t despawn. If you summon a different pet, then dismiss it, you can even tame it a second time, or third lol. I kinda wish all tames worked this way to be honest. It’d solve so much hate for hunters.
I just wanna use my white flame bee.
I’ve submitted multiple bug reports about it, and Petopia even said he forwarded a report to his contact and that was months ago.
(Tephratennae is a unique model, which is why I’ve been trying to get it fixed. Lol)
Now back to the talent tree feedback -
- Swap positions of Penetrating Shots and Ammo Conservation. The theme surrounding Rapid Fire would make better sense if these were oposite their current position.
- Swap positions of Trick Shots/Aspect of the Hydra with the newly announced Improved Spotter’s Mark/Unbreakable Bond. This would allow those that choose to use a pet to access these sooner (level 17) then later (level 19). The wait for Trick Shots/AotH would have minimal impact for leveling.
- Remove the left and right directional arrows from the Tenacious/Cunning (T&C) choice node and place them on the neighboring talents of Surging Shots and Master Marksman. This would remove the T&C pre-requirement before Trueshot and allow a choice to use T&C for content for which it would be necessary (Solo or maybe PvP). The T&C talent is not as necessary for group content (Dungeons, Raids) due to buffs given by other classes, such as Fortitude (Priest), or a Paladin’s Aura, a Warrior’s shouts, or the movement buff from a Shaman or Druid. Additionally, this should not be a requirement for Trueshot as it has no direct impact.
- Reduce Eagle’s Accuracy and Bullseye to single-point talents. There is no reason to gatekeep the successor talents for minimal gains. Just have Eagle’s Accuracy give a 4% (reduced from 5%) increase to Aimed Shot & Rapid Fire damage (possibly increase the damage percentage but for targets with an active Spotter’s Mark?), and change Bullseye to what it is on Live with the stacking to 30.
- Increase the chance for Lock and Load to 15%. The current duration, even with the Tier-Set, only causes Lock and Load to be active about once every two minutes on average.
We already have this and it’s almost always better to use especially in any kind of group content.
Thank you! Such a great example of the Blizz team listening to players when enough of them want the same thing … Faith restored
including misdirect to pet?
You still had the option of using the pet. I am talking about if it was removed entirely.
Again, its an option, not an entire removal.
That’s because the next change they should make is BM is the melee spec & SV goes back to ranged.
A well deserved pat on the back for this one. Still a petless ranged weapon spec would be cool to have. Blizz should consider adding a 4th spec to warrior and/or rogue as a ranged bow/gun spec.
I was so excited to come back to PvP without need of managing a pet. This is a huge letdown, love the class but can’t stand being forced into a pet in PvP scenarios.
I hope blizzard reconsiders and drops the pet again. Really wanted a ranged class fantasy without managing pet or blizzard having to constantly balance between the 2.
Thank you so much for listening!!!
you were not forced to it, and now even less so, since all the pet utility will be tied to the hunter.
Do you understand that? master’s call, bloodlust and bear’s tenacity, not need a pet anymore, you only run one if you want to
They will after 2 expansions, then will put back again, just like this time
Feedback does matter and they do listen contrary to what some select few will say.
I see the point in having a pet to defend a node, but for nothing else. The spec is perfectly able for PvP without the pet. MM pets won’t have any utility attached to them, they will essentially be a DoT that can be CC’d/Slowed/Stunned and a tanking tool.
It is an extremely clunky way to go about it. Feels like an awkward concession by someone very stubbord to appease players while still maintaining their vision first and foremost. Regardless of how inelegant it is in practice. If they dont change things more in future 11.1 ptr patches, my guess is they’ll leave it a mess until Midnight. Then take another pass at reworking hunters again.
Leveling is designed to be awful in retail anyway
Pets are a must outside of utility in arena for hunters. Stopping drinks, keeping healers in combat and more. It’s not just the utility that is now baked in. Also, flag spinning and base defending in BG’s.
The this what I was hoping to get away from. A viable, pet-less ranged class, ahh well.
I think it’s a bad idea to put beast from pack leader proc on kill command. We cant hold this spell. Same for bestial wrath.
Maybe put on kill shot will be a better idea, and let us decide when to pop it. Something like kill shot become availabe on any target every 20 sec and kill comand can proc it. Or Explosiv shot
Keep a proc of pack leader at the begining of a pack is essential.
And defensive of pack leader is very bad
And how you were planning to stop that without a pet, in this rework before they put the pet back?
It is viable now
