Survival might not have as many issues, but one of my groups, with a guildmate BM hunter, I was the one that had to provide lust because they did not want to give up their spirit beast heal. And you did ignore something like fortitude of the bear.
I didnt ignore fortitude of the bear it’s in the message you’re replying to
My bad, but you did wind up implying a 20% increase in health + healing for that amount was worse then passive leach. The leech might keep the hunter up through the rot-style damage, but fort would be another “oh…” button for the hunter to use if they get whacked by a mechanic.
this is getting off topic from the pet / lone wolf endless back and forth, but yeah the leech is generally consistently better for sv with how incredibly frequently we can use defesnvies + passive dr from mastery
I think there is maybe one person here on a die hard mission that these changes are great stuff, just look at the incredible post number they’ve made.
Maybe it’s the dev who made the decision. lol!
Anyway, I had a couple funny thoughts:
-How about they do the same with warlocks? Take one of the specs and remove their ability to summon demons. I mean sure they have Grimoire of Sacrifice so they can run without a pet, but maybe that is too tricky. I mean it’s not like warlocks actually bond with their pets in a RP game, they summon demons. So a demonless warlock spec! Get on it!
-Or how about a shaman spec that does not use Totems? Those pesky totems just get in the way. They are clunky. Sounds good. Right?
One of the problems with the meta followers in a RP game is if the the best simming race was a Roblox Square Rectangle Man, they’d all race change. Hey, they could pew pew as a rectangle, be able to choose the solid color in the barber shop and do big number and have lots of digital achievment, with all the dopamine and worthiness that brings. In fact, why even have a large world to play in? They could wait in a blank room in Q, or why even a room, maybe just a screen, chat, and then presto! get the action on. And those games exist. Lots of them.
But one of the things that made wow great was the RP aspect. Back in vanilla, in dangerous wildlands, tracking and taming a wild beast to train and become your companion. You leveled them, you fed them to keep them happy. If they died too much they could leave ya. This has all been slowly stripped away, bit by bit. There is a VERY valid reason Classic wow is so popular.
Try and have fun y’all. If classic didn’t look so terrible, graphics-wise (it really does look ancient), I’d be tempted to play there. If Blizz started dev new content for it, I’d be very very tempted. But I already played all that years ago.
Blizz, you’re kinda losing track of what really makes wow special. I wish you luck in figuring it out. I assure you, pew pew go fast, big damage meta chasing, while part of the game, is not how ya want the whole game to go. It will ruin it. (Ask yourself, exactly what percentage of players get 2100 in pvp, or Ahead of the Curve/Cutting Edge, or finish all m+10? It is a very, very, very small percentage. All the rest, pretty much just play the RP game and dabble here and there…).
Anyway, I’m gonna stop posting here. I’ve said my piece.
Good luck y’all.
Fair enough, but what about BM that does not want to give up their spirit beast heal or something in order to provide lust?
Think of it like this: one current argument is “if you want a pet, roll BM or survival” after the change it could be “if you want a lust not tied to a pet, roll MM” and you would be trying to use that argument on those that want a pet, for a different utility, and not go pet less at all.
Good evening fellow hunter players, today is a good day to ask for our PETS back, and to say blizzard is doing a terrible mistake
The best part is how he DOESNT CARE, like he said before
YET, he is here, trying by all means, to say how the rework is so good, saying how pets are bad, how its IMPOSSIBLE to have the OPTION
Dude is terrified blizz change decision.
Or, people tend to overreact when they don’t get their way so those people are being vocal. I love the change. I am not a spreadsheet tryhard. Just a casual who is glad to be getting an archer spec.
You have one now, Oniana.
Yes, on PTR.
lol, well I said I’d stop posting here and now I mean it. Good luck to all the hunters out there.
Funny enough enough I’ve been rocking the archer spec for years now. I guess what i really needed to be an archer was tame a bird and run that instead, since that’s what makes it truly one?
Remind me to check in at my archery range and demand they install eagle perches while hiring a falconer. That’ll really help our club.
At this point in the discussion I wonder if it wasn’t better to tell Mythic/Raiders go play BM or SV instead of MM. Leave MM alone and let us keep our ability to solo and have our pets as tanks.
Go play the other Hunter specs if you want to raid.
PTR updates:
PVP
Imp streamline PvP nerf doesn’t make sense at all
Two double taps is gonna be…. Something. That’s for sure.
It’s nice to see bug fixes happening so we can now test how the spec actually works and start putting things together better.
I still say, even with the tree update and change to EV, Trueshot is a joke of a cooldown and it requiring literally 5 talents to make it semi worthwhile is a joke.
I am also concerned that this over focus on streamline due to a refusal to make Aimed Shot have no cooldown or charges while doing nothing about overcapping on focus will backfire.
It’s a bit confusing that I think it means Improved Streamline in PvP raises the cast reduction from 20% (base) to just 25% instead of 30%.
But if you mean you don’t see the point of the change, I’ll admit I don’t either. It’s still a good talent, though.
Yeah, I’m still puzzled by it. I’ll certainly not put any points in it anymore, lol.
PTR is out for now, so I can’t test the changes yet.
Yeah I mean there is no reason to nerf imp streamline in PvP.
Double tap will be 40% in PvP so maybe having it on volley and ts is not as crazy as I first thought. (Double tap is really good in PvP, even at 50% effectiveness)
Even with Pack Leader - No Mercy giving a “free” pet basic attack with kill shot it’s still an extremely weak talent for Survival Hunters?. Could this add some sort of enhancement or buff to the attack?
Complete silence about the elephant in the room, they are rly trying to pass this as something that is not a big deal, well, i guess we will se the repetition of WoD and Legion, that once it goes live they will have to put the pet back again, great.
And a pvp nerf cause SCREW pvp too LUL
