Feedback: Herald of the Sun Paladin in The War Within

While templar looks like a hammer-bro with a DK element. Herald looks more to be making paladins more paladiny by adding more passive healing on ret’s while keeping their damage as priority. I like what I see here, especially since it has play with DS which works well on DS builds. It also don’t, unlike templar, require the player to stack to max HP.

I also see you took players feed-back on making this one based on wake, but I will be honest here, it’s is necessary to make both ret hero talents on wake? If so, then the ret tree will once again need to be redone with wake being more closer to the top of the tree if it that important of a talent, since the top is meant for everyone to pick up the talents.

This is no excuse when An’she is literally the God of Sun in the lore and when Elune is shoved up to every race regardless of them worshipping her or not

I, for one, welcome our new cow man overlords.

In the lore, the high elves picked up Holy Light (yellow version and not Elune version) use from humans. It’s time the blood elves rebranded and got ahold of the next big thing: Tauren space lasers brought to you by the Sun God himself.

:sleepy: I can’t believe the majority of the feedback is regarding lore/name and not the gameplay. This is why paladins play like poo right now. We do it to ourselves.

if the name don’t match the gameplay, then there is a problem.

I think herald of the sun is a fine name for this talent tree. We litereally light up like the sun fduring avengers lol (with the lasers I mean)

But templar… no, just no.

Besides the whole name thing I’m surprised I haven’t seen a

“No 2h/Shield combo! I’m unbsubbing!” thread yet.

I saw a lot of complaints about the whole an’ she thing and people are making this about representation when it’s not.

The Arathi believe in the sacred flame and they are part of the main story of WWT.

The concept of the herald of the sun it’s not about the sunwalkers it’s about the big cristal that is giving light cosmo power to the Arathi city and the empowering flame. Arathi believes in the flame that is a channel of the light. remember we have the Cosmo forces and they channel through things (Like Life for Druids channel through the dream and they believe in Elune).

The concept of an’ she is a shamanistic concept created by the Tauren. the light empowers the “sun walkers” The Taurens believe it’s an’she but it’s the light that empowers them. Please this is not about races it’s about lore.

Most of those people is going into herald. And making fun of templar being hammer bros.

But templar not having that is indeed a big miss-step by blizz, and also making both specs start off with “You need to have wake”

I agree with you. but I need it to post about it. Because it’s ridiculous what is going on.

I love this concept but I am not good at creating opinions until I feel the rotation and see how things work in the game. Maybe standing still might be a bad thing for players. or Sun’s Avatar might be the best thing ever. I just enjoy the ride of finally we have good spenders (Holy Paladin-wise).

More An’she needs to be mentioned! Sun for the sun god!

It literally isn’t lol

The literal description on the hero spec is just generic light stuff

Blizzard should be proud, the tree is good enough that the only complaints are about talent names not appealing to roleplayers lmao

Thats still not the Sun :expressionless:
Anshe IS the sun god. If Elune can be mentioned multiple times hell of course Anshe could

The same way not all druids believe in Elune and yet Elune is shoved down our throats all the time

If you read the concept of the Arathi in WWT you will understand.

Guided by a vision of a falling star, these Arathi have arrived in the zone of Hallowfall. Deep beneath the earth, this zone is lit up by the subject of their vision - a crystal sun. The Arathi that we will meet are utterly devoted to the Light, and in fact their airships are even run on the Sacred Flame..

Sacred flame = The light manifest in a different form. It’s not about race it’s about the lore.

So here is a quiestion for blizz, for ret, does sunspot only proc on your enemies or does it also proc on allies healed via lightforged blessings? I am assuming it does, but confirmation would be nice as it shows more of the mix of “holy and ret” through this tree.

The class is named after the original wielder.

If the hero spec is based on the society of the Arathi and their belief in the sacred flame, doesn’t make sense to call it an’she because an’she is a tauren entity. for them “the sun” it’s what provides the sacred flame.

Each paladin has their specific order and if you want to represent each order individually (which I believe will be pretty cool) maybe if you are a Tauren (Sunwalker) you can name An she, Blood Elf (Blood Knights) get something for the Sunwell but if you need a general name, Herald of the Sun it’s what it’s

2hander and shield is wanted, but unsubbing would be a bit dramatic. Folks can do what they want with their money and subscriptions for sure, but gameplay and tuning/design concerns for the most part should probably wait for Beta testing. Folks can ask that Empyrean Hammers and Sunspots be undispellable, and that the interactions and abilities being added with hero talents be tuned well enough to benefit the user.

Sunspots will apply to both friend and foe. We dont know if programing will include smart targeting, Prioritizing, lower health allies or enemies, or not.
