Ret pvp perspective:
Sunspots-largest concerns. Will it be dispellable or have backlash? I hope it is not dispellable. Sunspots needs a new name, gives images of sun damaged skin, possibly skin cancer.
Solar Grace-feels good interaction providing better feeling gameplay as combat goes on and applied passivly. Chefs Kiss
Luminosity-Crit strike chance of Judgment would be better than Hammer of Wrath. Ret has Hammer of Wrath only critical striking from its Class talent capstone already unless that will be gone in War Within.
Illumine-best news I’ve heard all day, love love love this.
Aurora-second best news I’ve heard all day.
Not enough Single target or defensive interactions in the Herald of the Sun tree if Empyrean Hammer from Templar is dispellable. Sunspots also should not be dispellable.
Sun’s Avatar-very interested to see this in practice for pvp. I would imagine, with enough sunspots sending beams to where the caster has Avenging Wrath active, nearby enemies clicking a flag in pvp will be repeatedly interupted. Also, if tuning of Divine Storm is a viable way to inflict damage in pvp, this Hero tree becomes pvp viable, causing Ret to be even better at area denial.
I was surprised not to see some ability that does damage and moves us to our target.
As for both Hero Talent trees, they could be used to pick up the slack in areas Retribution lacks in pvp, although it is more appropriate to have that done with pvp talents. If this thread could reach those responsible for pvp, Ret could use compensation for not having an MS effect, instant mobility, effective self healing in our damage rotation, a disarm, a spell reflect, knockback/fear protection outside of a 5min CD that is removed early and applys Forbearance, stealth, abducting whole groups of people and relocating them to another place of our choosing, or taking someone with us to the shadow realm for a dual while in group content.
