This is definitely more my speed than Keeper of the Grove (I’m not a fan of the tree pets for restoration and balance).
They just need to remove Protector of the Pack and make Regrowth that strong baseline for both Boomy and Feral. Shadowlands self healing felt good. The class was built around having self healing to survive since it doesn’t have any immunities. Instead they neutered our self healing this expansions and spread it out in lack-luster talents on the class tree.
We have the worst self healing out of all dps specs (especially non-hybrids). And at least as far as PVP goes, the healing is so bad it’s not even worth using on teammates so I don’t want to hear about “Hybrid Tax”. Either buff our self healing or throw a talent in that increases all self healing by X% but now you can’t heal teammates and I’ll happily take that.
It is about 30% damage and 40% leech, to Thrash. Check your logs, Thrashes damage is not that incredible overall. And also remember that if the damage buff is so incredible, they will just take it away from us somewhere else.
Perfect example, in the Fury/Prot warrior hero tree, they have a +50% damage Thunderclap talent. Anyone who has any sense knows that they aren’t just going to take how a Prot Warrior is now and add 50% damage to Thunderclap and say “poof good to go”.
That damage will be removed from somewhere else, just like with Thrash. Trying to worry about numbers right now is really hard to justify. We could end up super OP, or super MEH, with the same talents.
Worry about how they feel and what the changes mean to your playstyle.
I always chuckle when people argue with you Kaercha. You are one of the few posters on here that if I find my position in conflict with I actually stop to rethink it.
Too many random posters with no experience playing bear talking like they have the high ground.
Personally, I’m super happy with this tree, but I’ve been a moonbear the entire expansion because it fits better with how I play.
If they can make good changes to our General and Spec trees to make them less bloated and make us waste less pts in them I’d be quite happy.
In M+ if you combine the on cast damage and the dot it’s normally very close to Raze for me, my number 1 overall damage dealer, and I don’t even use the 50% CDR in Incarn talent. Based on today’s numbers it will become the top priority button with this hero talents tree by a long shot giving us a shield, Ursoc’s Fury, and healing us, Elune’s Favored.
I wonder if changing it to Arcane damage makes it count toward that 3s Lunar Beam CDR talent.
I dont really play either of this specs to much so my feedback is limited, but it is weird that this hero tree doesnt have an aoe way to spread the one baseline arcane spell shared by both specs thats core to ones ramp and another DR and has been a major painpoint for both since dragonflight started, right?
Weirder still that the tree that does actually have some of that moonfire quality of life is keeper with the treants moonfire spam and thats tied to a cooldown in the nature themed tree and balance only.
Unless theres a plan to rework FoE/fullmoon/moonbeam baseline to spread moonfire next expac thay they havent clarified like the other classes with similar problems, its not just me right?
That’s why I’m hoping they do something along the lines of:
12% damage and converting to arcane, giving a 10% and 20% buff from talents.
1.12 * 1.1 * 1.2 = 1.4784, 47.84% is fine to say “almost 50%”
And I don’t know why you’re telling me to not worry about numbers when… that was literally my point? There’s no way anything like current thrash should go live with minimum 85% leech between absorbs and healing and almost 50% more damage.
Playstyle-wise all this tree really means is “yay lunar beam ”, free 30% slows in M+, and, possibly, some degenerate MF spamming if we have an encounter where all that matters is aoe burst every 25-40s. Not much to comment on there. It’s a decent tree with one very obviously OP talent that’s worth mentioning so it doesn’t slip through without concern, and otherwise just looks like a fun thing to play in keys for folks who like moonbear.
I explained that part, because all of the hero trees have some very high buffing numbers, which means they will just take that damage from us to be given back by these talents.
Borrowed power taking away from the base of the class. Nothing new or exciting, they do it all the time.
If you are really thinking they are going to just buff it that high compared to live without nerfing it first…
Ok… you’ll get used to how they work eventually.
So i’ve read a lot of feedback and talking numbers or how we’re going to get lunar beam currently without being forced into set talents but I’d someone to explain to me real quick why we all shouldn’t be considering the moondust/Elune’s grace choice node a basically dead talent for guardian. Because the way i currently see it if we keep current m+ affix u wouldn’t want slow mobs unless we’re going back the kite meta from SL which please no. But also 3s off the CD of charge which some bears don’t even take but i can’t for the life of me think why that would be useful.
Seems perfectly fine for boomy getting that extra bit of cd for their wild charge or even open world content slow just can’t think of why either of those would even be nice to haves for guardian.
Bolstering must be sticking around.
True but if u wanted a slow for that, throw a point in infected wounds for a 50% slow this applies to raze as well so it’s an easier way to mass apply a slow if truly needed. Just feels bad to see something like that in this new system that seems out of place for a “hero” talent.
Looks like the obligatory pvp utility node to me.
Hello Mr. OG Lunar Beam enjoyer.
And spiteful… having slows is kinda freaking useful… being able to spec in and out of it, sounds good to me.
50% dmg to Thrash on a talent just means Thrash will be literal trash without its talents.
Talents that do too much generally mean nerfs to the base skill.
So, yes, your point is valid, but the other guys is also right and those talents are “silly.”
I completely agree. We shouldn’t need so many talents to make Regrowth do what it used to do without talents.
I really wish they would let bear druid use Starsurge and Sunfire into bear form
Unless blizzard buff lunar beam damage by 300% and 2x the current radius as a guardian this tree isn’t good.
The guardian druid bear is very heavy base on the button talent. Even with moonfire build you either have to give up steeper(major CD) or blood frenzy (rage gen) or Ursoc Fury (damage reduction) or Ursoc’s Guidance (damage dps and damage CD reduction) to take Lunar Beam. All current choice seem better than taking Lunar beam.
Is like feral druid being force to play freal frenzy. Expect freal frenzy at least do decent damage but lunar beam does very little to no damage.
The 3% magic damage reduction is unless. It hardly does anything.
The druid class issue is that the class tree try too do much since it have to work with 4 specs which does different things and too may 2 and 3 point nodes with poor node connection. The class tree for feral is full of xyz does mroe damage or more damage on bit if there is bleed on the target. Is not fun. Guardian tree is still meh at least is better than launch when taking raze replace maul and does less S/T damage. SO SO DUMB.
All 4 druid spec need a rework along with the class and spec tree before releasing and making hero talent.
From my own guardian perspective the need to use Lunar Beam with this tree makes me feel bad. I really dislike the ability and the mobility restrictions that come with what is supposed to be a capstone “make you feel good for pressing this” button.
What happens if this is meta for the activities I want to do? Am I now forced to take Lunar Beam and play in a way that I really dislike? I am already not wild about laser bear in general and the overreliance on moonfire which feels so not like a bear. Frankly, if I could trade the old Feral Faerie Fire for Moonfire I absolutely would.
