Feedback: Abominable Lives and Veilstrider

Please Blizzard, please change the meta to either just require “The Gang’s All Here” (in line with the Venthyr “Be Our Guest” achievement. Or make “Abominable Lives” rotate each week (or daily) and not be based on RNG. With seeing some people saying that it took them 3 months to get their last Abominable Lives quest, it doesn’t look very good for those of us trying to get Veilstrider before Dragonflight.

I just need to make all the wings of torghast 16 impeccable and I can’t find people to do it :frowning: it’s more frustrating than anything.

Um, that one is soloable. With the current gear available, you can just easly hit ilvl 290 then go do it. Just check guides and you should be okay. Research the Box of Many Things if needed for the extra perks as they help big time.

This requirement for Veilstrider is completely unfair.

The level of RNG, and luck involved is so far ahead of every part of this Achievement that its not even funny.

Please make it where you don’t need all 31 totally random quests to complete this. Something like 20 or 25 of the total would be more then fair to compensate for bad RNG that can take MONTHS for a single achievement.

I would grind out all the Malleable Flesh in the world if I could spend it on rerolling weeklies or something.

It’s crazy to have such a stacked achievement with a million parts, but have one that isn’t even difficult, but RNG, be the reason 95% of people who are trying for it but don’t get it, end up not getting it.

I really don’t think it is. I mean it takes so long to get enough flesh, and even if you farm HOA 10 times, and let’s say you get the amount of flesh needed, you still need to farm the spare parts. One abomination quests a week is one part. Most of them taking 5-7 parts just to craft. It’s going to take weeks to get enough parts to make each abomination…then they still need the quests? They will be very lucky to have finished 20 quests by the time dragonflight comes out, just bc of the fact you can’t make that many abominations each week.

I am still 5 quests out, and 1 abomination, and I’m not sure I can do it. THAT’S INSANE!!! I’m worried about 5 quests…had I not started around the beginning of September, I for sure wouldn’t have a chance.

So, I really don’t think a month is enough. Which is why they need to lower the requirement

The thing is you actually got lucky finidhing ti in 5 weeks. The rng on this can be pretty brutal, I’m missing 6 quests for 4 weeks now, each from a different construct with 3 quests (so 33% presumably). You’d think that at those odds I’d have seen at least 1 of them in 4 weeks but no such luck.

Making them daily, rerollable for currency on even put on a rotation would solve everyone’s problems.

The one part of venthyr that’s RNG, is changeable!! Why can’t necrolords be? I mean I will gladly farm a little more flesh just to get the last 5 I need, or those stupid meat fragments or w.e the heck those are. I dont need the 100 I have, I would use those too XD

+1 to this as well. Started on this as soon as they announced it (Already had a level 3 abom but never touched it) and this week I made no progress toward the achievement other than unlocking Iron Phillip and the quest he offered. repeatable RNG for this is bad design for something time limited.

I’ll look at the whole thing again because my simplearmory calendar and screenshots really support just how easy it was. Not doubting y’alls crappy rng. I didn’t have the table for the superior parts either. And then crafting aboms from least part count to most. I only distinctly remembering only 1 extra week to complete 1 quest for like toothpick (I think).

Tangent: like I still had 4 stitchyard mog pieces (plus like the naxx back) left for my main when I finished unity. Only got 2 more pieces this past week.

Not doubting y’alls crappy rng

It isn’t people just getting crappy RNG. The chances of you finishing this Achievement by the time the pre patch hits is ridiculously low. Anyone who got it easy was ridiculously lucky.

For instance one quest giver has a 25%, or 33% chance of giving a certain quest per week. That means each week you have a 75%, or 66% chance not to get the last quest you would need from that quest giver.

Now consider there are like 7-8 quest givers like that, and you have to win the lottery on each and every one in order to finish everything.

This is completely unfair for a single Achievement you need for a HUGE meta achievment.

The only quests I need for this achievement are “Give A Dog A Bone” and “Cut 'Em Down to Size”. I logged onto my one character with the Rank V stitchyard expecting my constructs to have at least one so I can finally be done with this achievement and focus on the Path of Ascension and Ember Court, but nope, same quests as two weeks before. They should at least change it so that your constructs give you all of their quests once a week instead of just a single random one.

No they shouldn’t change anything about this achievement. There’s always gonna be saps who say, “I didn’t know until only recently!” Just like there’ll be one who says it a month before expansion launch saying, “I took a break until pre-patch! It’s not fair I get punished for leaving the game for a break!” If you can’t get it, tough sauce. I’ve known about the achievement since April, the information was out there waaaaaaay back.

This is easly the most ignorant reply i’ve read. The achieve existed before the announcement, but there was no implications that it was going to be removed by Blizzard until very recently. They should have been clear that it was going away the second it was added, but instead they announced it much later and we are screwed unless they loose the achieve requisites for Abominable Lives.

I think they shouldn’t remove it at all. If people get it after you, even years down the line, tough sauce. This game should continue to build content not remove it.

I don’t understand how the same people arguing for exclusivity of things like the Slime Cat, AotC mounts, etc. are the same ones arguing for them to make this easier.

Veilstrider is meant to be a reward for outdoor players who actively play in the content they liked. It’s the first time we’ve been given a reward for us.

And suddenly, because now it affects you, you’re against FOMO, but when it affects everyone that isn’t you, you just tell us to suck it up? (Not aimed at you, OP, the people who I’m referring to should know who they are lol)

Asking for them to remove this requirement is like asking them to put all AotC mounts back into the game, removing the time limit on Keystone Mastery, Gladiator, etc. Because those all have the same time limit to do, just unlike those, the timegate is longer on this. Like KSM you won’t be able to get the last week of the season, because the second affix won’t rotate back in, for instance. There is a point in the PvP season where Gladiator/etc. will be near impossible to reach as well, and I see PvPers complain about that all the time.

You didn’t have foresight and you want to remove something for it. This, again, is like if we started petitioning them to bring back every KSM, AotC, etc. mount becuase we didn’t start it in time.

But as I said in another topic - the difference is you don’t view outdoor content as real content, so you think there’s no harm in changing it. However, this is not only belittling the content, but the players who participate (same with when someone belittles LFR) Meanwhile, the players this content is made for, do view it as real content and most of us had most, if not all, of the requirements done when it was released, and those who didn’t have been working on it and had ample time to catch up.

I am vehemently against FOMO, but while Blizzard is forcing FOMO in other forms of content, they should do the same for outdoor content, so that outdoor players have a reward for themselves as well, no different than AotC, Mythic Mounts, Hall of Fame, Keystone Master, etc.

OP asked for the achievement to be changed to better fit with the other requirements in Shadowlands Dillentante. This wouldnt be the first time a meta achievement’s requirements were adjusted (Glory of the Dragon Soul Raider had Holding Hands removed from the requirement). The request OP has made is perfectly in line with past precedence. Your rant about FOMO practices provides nothing to the post and is borderline trolling considering your position.

Disagreeing =/= Trolling. Learn the definition.

I am against changing it because you had ample time to earn it.

They shouldn’t change it because you ignored the content til last minute.

Its trolling because the points you try to bring up in your rant have no equal comparison to Veilstrider to begin with other than being FOMO related and dont even respond to OP’s request. They want 1 part of the meta achievement changed that puts it more in line with time requirements as 2 other parts of the Shadowlands Dillentante meta achievement.

People had ample time to complete Dragon Soul raider meta and it was still changed. Precedence for a change to a meta achievement requests.

The mission table often offers one superior part per day, and sometimes two. That doesn’t help with the RNG of the quests, but it does help you build all the abominations a lot faster.
