Just curious to get people’s thoughts on their warlocks. What race did you pick? Why? Was it theme? Visuals? Optimization? Or do you have your own head cannon?

I went Gnome YEARS ago several times and ended up deleting them all. Never felt right.
When the allied races started coming, Void Elf seemed a pretty solid choice. I enjoyed that for a while.
While I fought against it initially (to obviously zero effect) and they added “Warlocks for all”, I rolled a Man’ari (Won’t call it a Draenei, because it’s really not).
Red skin and all, it just makes sense. And I LOVE playing Destruction now. I was all in on Demo until I rolled this one. Destro is where it’s at.
Orc.
Iconic, evil, good racials.
Human, of course. No race is more evil, and blissfully unaware of it, than humans.
Whelp for right or wrong I went with void, I had a free boost in DF and always wanted to play a lock. I honestly figured more in pvp than anything, but I think I only pvpd once. It was for casting racial basically but he does look pretty cool as well.
I have 3, one race for each spec. Human for Destro, Gnome for Demo, and Undead for Aff. That’s the vibes I get and I think they are perfect for each especially Gnome for Demo. There’s just something about a crazy little gnome being able to summon demons to fight for him.
Definitely Void Elf.
The racials are great for PVP IMO. The extra teleport and the no pushback are very much needed for a class with little mobility.
I was playing human because of the old animations (pre-rework, ancient times), and diplomacy being OP. Now I just have two hearthstone charges after diplomacy was removed…
If I were making a character a few months ago, it would be void elf for the racial abilities.
If I were making one now, I’d strongly consider dracthyr… good utility with the knockback, and the out of combat health regen can help partially offset burning rush. I’m just not a fan of dracthyr aesthetics or lore though.
maghar affliction/demonology
reduced curse duration and + pet health is cool flavour for the class, also they cast left handed
draenei destruction, not a fan of the red skins but the green eyes are cool
usually went forsaken. But since blizz won’t give em a chiropractor-fix since the revamp i’ll be using blood elf with the undead skin (pale / red eyes) for a while.
Orc is right up there among favs tho
Light forged Draenei guys!! Makes lots of sense! No random retcons here!
First toon I ever rolled was undead lock, and I still play it to this day.
Drachtyr, being able to ignore ansurek’s every pull in p1 and p2 for her mythic difficulty is a godsend.
My first warlock was a blood elf, also my first character, more than 10 years ago. The reason was aesthetics. Other races as warlock tend to look bland.
Undead for affliction because a dead corpse spreading corruption and death is fitting
Orc for destruction because Gul’dan
Gnome for demonology because they’re small and weak so it makes sense they’d have a big demon bodyguard
Lizard (that I literally never go lizard form for). That approximately 43% movement speed increase from mashing jump/glide is neat. Sure, I could take Burning Rush, and I do, but this saves HP for when I don’t need the extra speed. And the knockback can be very helpful occasionally!
It’s not the best choice necessarily, but I like it.
Human, because they always look good, though my Desto Warlock is Nightborne and he looks sharper than when he was Blood Elf.
Vulpera is the only correct answers. Fel weilding fur balls should not be underestimated.
Goblin for me, because the image of getting lost in a sea of imps building up around me will never not be funny.
I made a gnome back in Wrath of the Lich King because I already had a human mage and paladin. I leveled slowly through Cataclysm and Mists of Pandaria and really dug summoning big demons as a small gnome. I have leveled several other warlocks (draenei, night elf, void elf, and dark iron dwarf), but this gnome is the one I enjoy the most.
