What ground / flying mounts are your favorites and why?

Most used ground mounts for me are

  1. Vicious War Wolf - Earned it through my first and only time doing RBGs where every game I consistently was top damage. One of my most used ground mounts.

  2. White War Talbuk - Unsure why, this specific always just sticks out to me ever since BC.

  3. Red skeletal horse - Definitely a nostalgia thing, it was my favorite level 40 race mount back in the day

  4. Dreadsteed - My first epic mount on my first character because I was poor and still took a while to get, lots of fond memories running around duskwood / STV after I got this bad boy

  5. Black War raptor - first “war” mount I got with extra honor, I also really loved the nimbleness of the mount, you can tell exactly where to land / jump etc.

  6. Swift spectral tiger - For the longest time I didn’t really care for it, but when I finally got the money to get one I jumped at it. Unarguably the most iconic mount in terms of wealth in the games history.

Most used flying mounts

  1. Violet netherwing - Iconic from the time I played most during an expansion and the first grind that I actually committed myself to. (Usually would skip past any rep grinds and considered everything not worth it)

  2. Bloodbathed Frostbood Vanquisher - I thought this was hands down the coolest flying mount for a long time. I’d use it a ton if it didn’t get stuck in door ways etc.

  3. Orgrimmar interceptor - Was honestly surprised when this mount came out and knew I had to have it. One of my favorite faction pride mounts

  4. Shadowblade’s Murderous omen - The quests to get this were awesome, I hated it at first but I really like this mount and use it non stop on my rogue

Obviously I’m big on Warhammer so Orcs on Boars is a must for me.

Ground - Bruce, because crocodile

Flying - Tie between most of the drakes I have, twilight, black, blue, etc. I like the drake model a lot.

Kor’kron wolf from Siege of Orgrimmar, because it’s quiet, not too busy looking and stable riding.

For flying I like purple guild rep bird, because it looks cool, its profile is not too large to cover everything, and it’s quiet to mount.

I don’t have enough mount to answer this question. I can’t get most of the achievements done and I am also too poor. fml

Mount collector here:

  1. Favorite ground mount:
    a. All time is a tie between my Swift Zhevra and Mechano-Hog. There’s just nothing that can beat the perfection of that bike. Also, the SZ is somewhat rare nowadays, I haven’t seen one being used aside from mine in more than 2 years.
    b. Currently ground favorite: Lucid Nightmare. Beautiful and really fun to acquire.

  2. Favorite Flying Mounts:
    a. I feel drakes in general need their own category, and I have to say that my favorite has always been the Ironbound Proto-Drake. That titan look is amazing. my close second is Alani (Thundering Ruby Cloud Serpent). The red with the lightning is great and Chinese Dragons, i mean come on.
    b. Current Favorite Flying Mount: Clutch of Ji-Kun. Proud to have looted her, and I like that it’s clean and small. Most birds are riddled with a lot of effects (fire, fel, purple, etc.)
    c. Non-Drake flying: My Depleted-Kyparium Rocket

BUT truth is i love way too many mounts. Honestly, I am so thankful for Blizzard making the “Summon Random Favorite Mount” button. I can finally see them all in rotation.

All tigers are amazing
Amani Battle Bear and my Polar bear are my fav bears.
I love my BfA CE Raptor and Un’goro Raptor.
Headless Horseman
My MoP CE Imperial Quilen is another I don’t see around much and I like.
I actually like the White Skeletan Warhorse better than Riverdare’s one. Meh
Tyrael’s Charger absolute beauty.

I HATE, HATE, HATE the damn Strider and the fact that I have to use it so often. Wish there were other “walk over water” mounts.

I like the fox from the last expansion for ground and Myrimar’s head for flying, boy that was a tough one to get.

I have several.

Ground only: Legion Midnight (love the model), TBC Midnight (very first rare mount I ever got and started me down the road to mount collecting), Amani War Bear (first event mount), Infernal Direwolf, Great Sunwalker Kodo (favorite class mount), Swift Shorestrider (my rarest mount), all four Talonbirds and Frostshard Infernal (love the way to tosses his head around and I love his color).

Flying: Legion Warlock and Paladin mounts, Grove Warden, Grove Defiler, Hogrus (favorite store mount. He makes me laugh), Warforged Nightmare (second favorite store mount), Ironbound Wraithcharger, the three new model hippogryphs (Emerald, Cloudwing, Leyfeather), Twilight Drake, my four stone drakes, the four Wind Drakes from Cata, the three Grand Drakes, TLPD, Bloodbath Frostbrood Vanquisher, Invincible and the five JC panthers.

Underwater: Subdued Seahorse

I like my mechano hog and flying machine still, despite the weird wobbly rubber sound the latter makes now.

Ground mounts: Big Blizzard Bear, Yellow Marsh Hopper, Ratstallion, Arcadian War Turtle, Llothien Prowler.

Flying mounts: Hogrus, Shu-zen, Valajar Stormwing, Violet Spellwing, Grove Warden.

Depends on my alt. Everyone has their own ground and flying mounts in their own macro. Although, with this alt it’s Hogrus for both. Meat Wagon gets used a lot on my undead. Beyond that it’s lots of different mounts.

Headless horseman mount and hippogryphs and on my demon hunters I use invincible

It really depends on the character I’m playing. I dislike using mounts that dont fit the character.

I use a Turbo Charged Flying Machine as my flying mount on this character and a Core Hound as her ground mount. The anniversary Core Hound, not that pathetic Dark Iron one.

I like Bruce and the wolf you get as alliance for completing both war campaigns

Flying I like the emberwyrm and invincible

Love me some Kodos! Unarmored Kodos are the best.
Would love to get that damn Heavenly Onyx Cloud serpent. Been farming that thing since MoP :l
Also love the Dreamweaver Unicorn… But that still hasn’t dropped for me :cactus:

As for my most used mount? Uuuh… Well, I usually just flight/deer form. ._.

For mounts that I actually have:

My favorite ground mount is the gronn from WoD season 2. The one from WoD s3 is better, but I missed it :frowning:

Favorite flying mount is the one from season 9 in Cata. Again, the one from season 11 in Cata is better, but I still love it. I’d ride it on all my characters 24/7 if it was account-wide:

For mounts that I don’t have, my absolute favorite is the gladiator mount from season 12 during MoP. Not pushing for it is my biggest regret in WoW:
