Here might be a good start…

Just saying.

Baccano! hands down. Short but sweet, really good narrative that’s told in a non-linear fashion.

1930s gangsters trying to rob a train in Depression-era New York City, a plot where 17th Century alchemists discover the secret to Immortality, and a pair of bandit couples getting mixed into the mix of it all.

If you like a cute short anime, netflix had one come out called Hi Score Girl. I thought it was a nice break from the more crazy stuff I am usually watching.

Nostalgic for old gamers too.

You might want to search by genre lol. Nearly impossible to tell your interests with just “anime” as a broad search.

Anyway I would throw in Trigun: Stampede.

Noir is such a Hidden Gem to those who haven’t watched most Old anime. I love this one.

As for new animes to watch Violet Evergarden is amazing, Restaurant to another World, Dr. Stone, Hells Paradise, Mashle, if you like Gundam - Which of Mercury is good, The Ancient Magus Bride, Spy Family. and a ton more.

When in doubt. Trigun. ( I have heard Stampede is good, I just haven’t watched it yet ) The funny thing with the OG anime is I swear its like 80 percent filler but its GOOD filler.

Machikado Mazoku.

lmao.

Oh another one I recommend is teeeeeeeeeechnically not a whole anime. It’s a bundle of animated sections of Petshop of Horror. I really wish it got a whole anime. I’m not sure its forum friendly because its old anime swearing and violence. But they’re really good.

The episodes are Daughter, Delicious, Despair and Dual. Yes there’s a reason all of them start with D. The manga is great too. I know its got another series that takes place in Tokyo but my usual manga shop back then closed before I could buy the rest of the series as it released. So my collection of the 2nd series is incomplete. But the original manga is great.

Og trigun is weeb western with single episode stories packed to the brim with superb character writing.

Stampede is space dramtic opera with consiserable world building and deep lore. More character development to the antagonists and supporting cast than in the original but much weaker episodic writing.

Fair trade really. I saw a few clips and it was so nice to just hear Johnny Yong Bosch still as Vash. No one else can really voice that goober like him lol

His panicky noises still make me giggle
