Anything that is Dragon Ball
The last one I watched was last month which was Oshi No Ko but didn’t seem like my type of anime.
Recent:
- Ousama Ranking - anime of the decade.
- Kimetsu no Yaiba - fun little romp.
- Helck - is just starting, will be great if the adaption is good.
- Dragon Quest: Dai no Daibouken - finally a full adaption, and more decent to boot.
- Trigun Stampede - it’s cool but you really need that software that increases FPS, because it’s janky (low fps) in many parts.
For good anime that are not so recent:
- Hunter x Hunter 2011
- Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
- Gungrave
- Scryed
- Trigun, the original
konosuba is great! I will say one thing thats hard to ignore though is the random booba / butt shots they have so uh, if you aren’t a fan of that just be warned.
That being said konosuba is an absolutely hilarious show overall and if you can get past the first thing, its a great experience.
Other than that, Jojo’s bizarre adventure is great, i’d start with part 3 to see if you truly like the show as while parts 1 and 2 are good, part 3 is kind of the part where the author really found his footing.
Attack on titans awesome and is after 10 years almost actually ending finally for real this time, it has alot of people dying in horrifying ways so if you’re not a fan of that i’d prolly stay away.
Death note is the story of a serial killer who gains a supernatural item no one knows about and the detective trying to catch him while they totally don’t want to bang.
My favorite animes are as follows.
- Samurai Champloo - Chill anime about a trio of wandering samurai and a girl.
- Hell Girl - Grimdark anime about a girl who takes contracts to send people to hell. Very sad and psychologically scarring at times so beware. I think one episode is about a girl who sends her bully to hell but can’t live with the guilt so takes herself out in the same episode. Most episodes are social/societal issues.
- FMAB - Shounen about brothers on a journey to get their bodies back.
- .Hack Sign/Roots - MMO anime about people who get trapped in game (before SAO)
- Welcome to the NHK - Anime about a guy going through a midlife crisis as he works a minimum wage job. So he starts exploring different things like anime, social clubs, and other goofy ventures trying to find meaning in his life. Mostly slice of life with somewhat dark undertones, bittersweet overall, but great watch.
- Berserk - The original Dark Souls, but an anime. You will like if you like GoT.
- Cyberpunk Edgerunners - Group of mercenaries in a dystopian cyberpunk future looking for the meaning of life and survival amongst their close-knit crew. Beware if you hate sad stories, very sad anime overall.
- Beastars - Think Zootopia but an anime with a grimdark subplot, beware if you despise furry style creatures.
- Cowboy Bebop - Retro space anime about a cowboy space mercenary and his crew.
- Attack on Titan - Meat Gundam People eat humans and stuffs.
This is one of my favorite ways to describe aot.
Also yeah samurai champloo is heckin sweet and fullmetal alchemist: brotherhood is one of my all time favorites.
dragon ballz op and my dog is anime too
Cowboy Bebop
InuYasha
Ranma 1/2
Anything Macross
Netflix’s Ultraman was pretty good.
Trigun
This one might be hard to find but Record of Lodoss War.
Haha yeah I was like… yeah, that’s best I got for description.
Yeah I have a super soft spot for Champloo; as I’ve always loved the wandering samurai theme and the comedy in that series was gold. However, the overall animation and depiction of that era was so beautiful. Every episode was like a work of art for me.
FMAB… I mean… come on, we all know it’s a masterpiece.
But if you skip parts you miss out on the best waifu. Speedwagon.
these aren’t new but I’ll list some of my all time favorites, sorry if it’s longish. these are mostly action/fighting or psychological
berserk - 1997 ones or golden age arc movies
death note
full metal alchemist / brotherhood
code geass
wolf’s rain
trigun
parasyte the maxim
claymore
naruto
hunter x hunter
yuyu hakusho
one punch man
some other good ones I’ve seen recently:
death parade
the promised neverland
erased
and I second this…good anime that I don’t hear mentioned often.
Even then, thats also kind of the point, the ridiculous fantasy tropes.
Just don’t watch that one if you’re going thru a rough time
Black Lagoon
I want to watch it but the shear amount of it watch is very intimidating.
I have heard there’s basically a “Avoid all the filler episodes” list that narrows a chunk of it down
Bubble is great
it’s actually very beautiful and touching anime but yes the end is very sad probably more so than any anime for me personally
I may have to look that up. I gave up on Bleach because the bount seasons seemed like nothing but filler to me.
