Is there away that we can smelt things faster? Or can we please get an item to increase the speeds of this please?

I hate this too, I might offer a tip/premium to the miners to prepare it in bars for me so I don't have to do it myself,
At least you can start it and walk away. I routinely smelt a dozen stacks a day .

This is one of the things they need to borrow from GW2.

This, so much. At least with smelting and cooking you can do everything you're holding and walk away while your character does the work.

I like it to for some reason, also it's great when someone wants me to smelt for them and it takes a while.. means a nice tip at the end.
Every xpac, the smelting channel gets faster. And as pointed out, you can batch it and walk away.
You can also start smelting, then look up ways that it could possibly be faster, find this page and by then be done smelting once you tab back in.

cooks have the chef's hat that makes cooking faster. i don' t know why they don't have a welder's mask to make smelting go faster.
Why necro? Cuz still annoying to not have ability to smelt faster. An item please? to make it faster? Would do a month long quest to let me smelt stuff faster. On every mining alt. Certain it won't happen cuz QoL not in Bizz vocab.
Or you can do as one of the posters suggested above and walk away (or do something else) while you are smelting.
While it would be nice for smelting times to be reduced, I am certainly not going to complain about it.

But we can just up and walk away or go outside and have a smoke
I use a butter knife / table knife. Once I start smelting I take the knife and use it to spread peanut butter and jelly onto two slices of bread. I really like blackberry jam. Almost too much.
When that doesn't work I use window mode and tab browsing.
