When is “later today”?
when is this dropping, i see nothing on the vendors.
- Drop the cost of Cores and Essences to 500 Echoes.
- Let all players purchase essences, no matter what. (New player gating is absurd)
- Nerf DH and Destro
- Put all Corruption on the vendor, all the time
- Go work on shadowlands
At that point, there is literally nothing left to do with BfA, you can simply wash your hands of it and focus 100% of your time into beta/release.

Read the post you can buy up to the current max with echo’s.
Great you guys finally thought about giving players what they want. Again you fail your execution though as always. First Essence cost shouldn’t have really changed, 2nd corruptions should’ve been cheaper or echoes from sources increased, 3rd you should have stopped the rotation on corruptions after the first rotation (which honestly shouldn’t have happened anyways) and just give access to all corruptions all the time. And now finally this new cloak upgrade with malefic cores SHOULD NOT cost echoes since thats still a hard to come by currency and is being used to buy corruptions. IN some way i get you are trying to put a time gate on things, but rather then that, have players step up to a challenge to get more faster. Which leads to the mementos being the only viable currency to use for malefic cores. Make them cost 4000 mementos which essentially means you have to do a 4/5 mask run and gather the crystals to get enough from one run. This eats into the cost for putting sockets into gear but would seem more acceptable as each run would yield a malefic core, but also those that can’t complete a run or do lower mask runs would still build towards being able to purchase them while challenging them to push their toons (much like mage tower did)

So to get an Alt with all three of their Essences and get their cloak to a bare minimum level (let’s say, enough to only have tendrils) for at least TWO of their “stat % increase from all sources corruption” (20 corruption per rank 3) we’re going to need:
5000 per essence x 4 = 20000
5000 per rank 3 corruption x 2 = 10000
2000 per cloak rank, but lets assume you do half buying and half runs, so with 40 corruption you want 20 corruption reduction, so 7 cores, so say you only do 3 buys = 6000
20k + 10k +6k = 36k
And a casual player with a life, say a job or school starting soon during an ongoing viral plague with a lot of countries starting to get a round 2 due to laxed rules too early can knock out MAYBE 5k a week for one toon, maybe 2 toons
Thats still TWO MONTHS (8 weeks) per Alt.
Blizzard shadowlands launches Q4 as of right now.
That means 3 months guaranteed, at MOST assuming a December release (which many doubt) 5 months.
Please just make this all account wide. At least essences and cloak. Corruption vendor selling everything. With more players geared via account wide systems they’ll be able to access content they’ll otherwise be unable to do due to time constraints on their normal lives. And more will have more fun on their alts.
It’s a MAU win.
Edit oh and of course 4 runs = 40k momentos which requires at least 3 weeksish of Emmisaries and Invasions and Minor Visions.

No thanks I need 275k mememtos and they are much more time consuming to obtain than echo’s which you get from just about everything.

I knock out about 40k echoes a week on my 5 toons, 8000 or so each. If you run a 16 key each week, thats 250 from the key and 1600 in the cache. I do all 3 assaults and 7 emisarries per toon, that adds up to 3125 echoes. Doing the 3 assaults grants you around 30k CV, so 3 greater visions a week, which adds up to 2250 echoes. There’s also some incidental echoes from raids, extra keys, etc, but lets go with just the for sure ones. That totals up to 7225 echoes per week.
Three visions a week is an hour if you just do two masks, an hour for the key, and about 90 mins for the world content. That’s about 3.5 hrs per toon. That’s all it takes to maintain one truly top notch character. Incidentally, the 3 vision runs a week also adds up to a new socket every second week as well. Anyone crying about the echoes being too much work is just being lazy and looking a gift horse in the mouth. This is going to allow me to get my last two characters who are really behind on cloak level caught up in about two weeks, so ty Blizz.

A lot of people do not have the time to work up to getting a 16 key in their bags and if you haven’t been doing Mythic during the xpac because you don’t enjoy it nobody is going to take you due to lack of Raider IO stats, unless you have friends who were doing it and taking you along, but a lot of returning players preparing for Shadowlands often do not have any friends left in-game. Nor have the Raider IO stats.
You are assuming a lot of free time that simply doesn’t exist for many working people or students. If you can do it good for you but you have to recognize not everyone has the time to do everything you’re listing, which is arguably the majority of the player base given many people are now forced to pick up another job to keep their lives stable.
This is not a correct representation of the time constraints assuming the “Pre requisites” behind high end mythic keys, nor the difficulty of getting your character to a level of Sanity high enough to even get a mask in the first place.

ITT: some dude thinks 8k echoes a week is “maintaining a top notch character.”
He also apparently thinks people are just facerolling through 5 mask visions like they’re nothing.
Also thinks many people randomly do a 16 per week when most don’t do M+ at all and even if they wanted to wouldn’t have the raiderio to get into a 10 let alone a 15+.
I have 6 characters with level 15 capes. Been playing them for months. Only 3 of them have 5 masked. My priest was actually ahead of them but still can’t 5 mask because priests are hot garbage (no, I don’t care that your random 470 priest can clear them easily).
Oh well, some people are out of touch.

Hmm, have friends you run keys with? Me and my friends run a half dozen keys every Sunday night just for alts. Fun AF playing on lesser geared toons, not that I have any.

Hmm, read my whole post. I don’t run 5 masks, they are too inefficient. Just run zeroes if all you want is echoes and mementos, pretty sure a trained monkey could clear those.
