Faster Legendary Cloak Upgrades

Doubling M+ from 15 to 30 per keystone level would make this more tolerable. 15s would provide 450 echoes which is way more reasonable than the grind one would have to do currently.

You are forgetting that you can still get 2 echoes additionally with the vendor. One from full vision clear, and one from a raid (normal or higher).

please no I vendored those

It would just be one way to purchase them. You could still use the other suggestions to purchase the cores if you wanted.

It’s really nice, but it isn’t enough. We don’t have enough coalescing visions to grind all the echoes for corruptions, essences and extra upgrades.
You should change the costs to enter and play the horrific visions. 10.000 coalescing visions is a way too much. It should be 2.000 not more than this. Also you should make echoes bind on account.

You better read it again. You are saying what you wished it said, not at all what it actually said.

You do realize how overpriced this is right? Setting a price of 2,000 echoes equates to running 2 vision full clears and 2 emissary quests or to complete 3 full clear visions. The cost is far too high for not increasing the amount of echoes earned. You’re tying too much into this one currency if you’re not going to yet again increase the amount earned. If you buy the cloak upgrades you set yourself behind on the corruptions for another month since you’ll have to wait for it to return on the rotation. This is a step in the right direction but implementation has missed the mark for me. You’re making the grind to play a new class or an alt unbearably grindy for no reason. If your idea is to keep people engaged, lower the cost on all corruptions and remove the rotation. What keeps people engaged is being able to buy lots of corruption to test multiple sets, to play and gear their alts, that’s what keeps me engaged, not an endless grind and barrier to actually play the game.

It’s not faster, though, unless you guys are making it so people can get 14 upgrades in a single day/week period.

It’s also not even cool because now if you buy those with echoes you’re gimping your character of damage/healing/mitigation by putting them further behind for WEEKS instead.

Like, the people who thought it was a good idea to make it cost 2k echoes, echoes even alone as 2k coalescing vision things wouldn’t even be an issue…but the people who thought that 2k echoes per…did not think about this from the standpoint of anyone NOT playing a main, nor from the standpoint of a player even at that.

Mathematically, it’s literally worse than not even implementing the system AT ALL unless you guys intend to make ALL corruptions available on the vendors at all times because by buying even just 1 of these per week you put yourself weeks behind unless you’re farming arenas or mythic+s every hour constantly.

Frankly, the vendor rotation makes this suck because I’m afraid to spend echoes on anything other that corruptions. Nothing sucks as bad as getting an upgrade you can’t use for weeks. Edit: Getting an upgrade you can’t use because your corruptions will be wrong.

If the vendor rotation wasn’t a thing, this would be tolerable. As it is, this is useless to me until I have enough corruptions that I’m comfortable buying a cloak upgrade.

Actually, re-read their edit. You can indeed by as many as you want (if you have the echoes) to reach the current corruption resistance cap.

This still kinda sucks for alts though as now you decide between corruption resistance or the corruption you want to buy. Just make it all scale evenly.

If a 20 corruption item costs me 4150 echos, why can i only get about 6 resistance for the same echos? The cost of a Malefic core should be the same as the cost of the negative (4150*3/20) or about 600. Or if you want to scale it better because we get a free 50 corruption resist with a rank 15 cloak, make it about 900 echos.

The math for 900 is we have 92 resist, or 14 cores to buy for 28k echos. So effectively we got 92 resist for 28k echos, which is about 300 echos per corruption level. Or 900 echos for 3 corruption resist.

Yup, I see that that “edited for clarity”. Actually they changed it as before it was limited it to two. Glad they changed it.

My alts have no use for this, i still need corruption and some need essences. Why not just make every vision clear award a malefic core? Why tie it to the already thin stretched currency? Oh my bad, i probably just leaked the july hotfix. Woops.

Just wanted to say, Huzzah for a sensible change.

Thank you for the change this is a good compromise.

My alts have a use for it because I was 2 cores behind on my druid. I am grateful for this change because I am playing my alts. Every little bit helps.

I don’t really understand the rage from so many people about this… Yes echoes are stretched a little thin but the whole point is Echoes are the catchup mechanic… Don’t have enough corruption? Echoes. Don’t have right essences? Echoes. Don’t have enough vision entries? Echoes. Don’t have enough capped cloak resist after 15? Echoes.

This change absolutely makes sense… now you can catchup your alts by doing ANY content you want to do. Like group pvp ? get echoes from BG. Like arenas? get echoes from arenas. Like Raid? get echoes from raid. Like Questing? Get echoes from Emissaries. Like events? Get echoes from assaults. Like dungeons? get echoes from M+.

They made it so you can do nearly ANY content in game… and catchup to players who have worked entire expansion. This is just a win… in every way. Alts … returning players… lazy people who just didn’t bother…

Sure it could have been cheaper but for that matter they could have just put full 475 gear with perfect stats/corruptions in your inventory… The point is you should still have to put forth effort they just made it so A) if you put forth more effort you go faster and B) you can put that effort into ANYTHING and still get to the prize at the end…

Thank you for listening.

Seems a little weird to require echos rather than just letting you keep clearing visions (more than 1 per week) … but I suppose something is better than nothing.

Don’t participate in the system then and in one month’s time when I have a maxed cloak and all the corruptions I can equip by only setting myself back like 15k echoes, you will be about 27 resist behind me with a bunch of corruptions in your bag you cannot equip. Please tell me again how much worse this is.

Because you’re not actually ahead. They literally said it’s the same thing as doing the 2 per week, unless they’ve lifted that cap, which to my knowledge they have NOT lifted the cap of 6 resistance per week. This puts you 2k per week per buy behind me, which means I net more corruption than you each time it comes around.
