- [ With regional restarts ] Echoes of Ny’alotha are much more abundant than before. The droprate of Echoes of Ny’alotha and the cost to purchase items with Echoes of Ny’alotha has been increased by a factor of 5.
- Developer’s note: When these changes take effect, a Major Assault will award 625 Echoes of Ny’alotha, whereas before this change they awarded 125. The cost to purchase an Essence from MOTHER will also increase by the same factor, from 500 to 2500. If you are planning to purchase a Rank 3 Essence with Echoes of Ny’alotha that you’ve already earned, you should do so now, before these costs change.
- [ With regional restarts ] MOTHER now offers Vessels of Horrific Visions in exchange for 1750 Echoes of Ny’alotha.
- Developer’s note: This is to provide an additional source of access to Horrific Visions that does not require completion of Assaults.

Regional restart means with the daily reset. Special attention to this sentence: " If you are planning to purchase a Rank 3 Essence with Echoes of Ny’alotha that you’ve already earned, you should do so now, before these costs change."
At this point tbh I am not motivated to even GET the cloak on anymore alts. That quest chain was fun the first time but after that, and by the fifteenth time, it’s just horrid.

cool, good for you, if you aren’t doing the kinda content with those alts where you need the cloak, then you aren’t doing the kinda content with them where you need the corruptions either. so its a non-issue.
i’ve got some alts who I went and got the cloak, some alts I didn’t bother with, cuz some of em just sit in city doing crafting for me while others I actually use.

It is an issue because WQs give corrupted gear, gear I need but have to destroy.

It was mentioned yesterday, and I stayed up until dawn finishing as many emissaries as possible and buying every essence my alts could, only to find that alts without the cloak will no longer be able to buy essences. But no fear, Clark is here to show us the MHP way!

Ya, I stopped after 8, and even the last couple were really difficult to justify. Every time look at my 4 remaining 120s, or the 4 120s I have alliance side, I just can’t work up the motivation to go through the several hour hassle of getting the cloak. It’s arguably even worse now, since the two mandatory invasions you have to do for the cloak chain no longer reward Echoes, so I have to suffer with those toons having nothing but R1 Breath and R1-3 Crucible.

For what reason…
I read this “nerf” akin to the situation where “exploit early exploit often” goes on for a while with blizz turning a blind eye until the right people are done getting/completing, then the exploit is fixed to keep others from benefiting.
So if alts without the cloak can no longer purchase essences because they will no longer be getting any echoes, that’s a nerf.
Quick question for ya guys in the dev area!
Is there a way to tell which items have had corruption but have been cleansed? I can already see a massive jump in “uncorrupted” BoEs on the AH (that may or may not have been cleansed), or for characters that have high item level pieces in bags, but unsure if they were at one time corrupted? If it is in the game file that shows an item was at one point corrupted, would it be hard on your guys’ end to add a tag on the item like tertiary stats that says “cleansed” or something to that effect?

So I’m just NOW seeing the warnings to buy essences before this change. You’re obviously not concerned with screwing your players, b/c rather than give a warning of only two days that people are likely to miss, you could have simply multiplied everyone’s existing count by 5 in order to keep the price change fair. Now, I have alts that have to go do the work all over again to buy essences. That’s about as bone-headed a thing as I can think of for you to do given you’re supposed to be trying to help people with their alts.
Yeah. Clearly they intended for people who missed the late hour announcement to lose out.
I mean, if they did they, why add the price change at all? The entire point of the price change was to reduce the value of stored stockpiles by a factor of 5, so that those with gigantic pools of Echoes weren’t as advantaged. Think of the peeps with 15-20k Echoes if TD R3 only cost 3k instead of 15k.
That said, 17 hours of notice on something like is not acceptable. They should have had a warning on the launcher and at the login screen for a week.
