Like it says, I’ve got the heirlooms I want for the alts I plan to level first, but many other heirlooms to gather. Is there any reason to farm emblems for them now, or wait until the pre-patch or even Cata drops?
Really it depends when you will need the other boa’s. In a month? in 2 months? 3 months?
In Cata they are purchased with Justice Points which will be used most likely for gear in the first stretch and tied up.
If you likely won’t need them for a few months, just wait. But generally speaking they will likely be easier to farm now with badges than later with JP.

Farm the seals you can get the heirlooms that way. Save the badges for the justice point conversion.
Plus you can get the pets at the tourney for seals that will sell for alot of gold.
