Others violating the rules doesn’t override you violating the rules. Your name shouldn’t include human anatomy that could be deemed vulgar.

The only thing you can do is open appeal in regards to this and wait for their answer. Nothing else, No one on these forums can help fix this for you.

Ah… I see.
Guilds are considered “at will” groups where the Guild Master sets the tone. They are something you can opt into, or leave as you wish based on the guild. The language there can be reported, but they don’t tend to penalize it unless it is really bad.
Blizzard does not go looking for violations. They depend on reports. What you say in public chats/groups is going to get far more scrutiny than what you say in private around friends who share a sense of humor.
The reports come from General Chat, Trade, and public groups. People who are strangers and don’t share your sense of humor at the name, or any other language.
In the case of names, you are going to have to change it to something appropriate for the game. If the guild is gross, report the individuals then leave guild.

I more so needed to let this out. I will change my name so I do not lose my account but I do believe this is unfair considering the community that I am playing with.
Seriously, 2 wrongs does not make a right.
Your name was flagged, and Blizzard offered you a chance to rename your character. If you find people violating the In-Game Code of Conducts or EULA, report it.
If you find someone with an inappropriate name, report it.
You do not get a free pass to violating Blizzard’s policies because others chose to do so. It is not rocket science.

Glad to hear you will do that. It should keep your account safe. If you have any other names like that, you can make a ticket to self report the list. They are very lenient on that and will help fix them. I realize it feels really bad to get a speeding ticket while watching others speed by. I am glad you are going to prevent any further issues on your account though.
Just remember to please use the right click report to report those people being vile. It captures the name, server, chat channel, time, and chat logs in the report for review. It can take a while, but it does catch up to them. Then they come here and complain that their profanity or whatever got them in trouble. Heh

I let them know in my ticket if they can flag my name again so I can change it.
While frustrating, rules are rules and not worth losing my account I have been playing since I was 12/13 years old.

You may also want to go over ur other toons and self report those just incase.

No need to delete them, Just self report and if in violation you will get a free name change with no account actions because you self reported

Sorry I’ve been chasing this up.
How do I do this process. My warlock name is Cancer and people think I’m griefing I explained in another thread it was an inside joke for a mate who has cancer he was going to kill me etc.
But yeah I don’t wanna get in anymore trouble if it’s going to be a problem.
